We have owned our property for almost 20 years and have lived on it for 16. We have been blessed with a magnificent display of nature during those years. I have filmed and now have digital documentation of this since we have lived here. These are not pets, but are very wild and are only comfortable with familiarity of the sounds they hear around here daily. We have 18 ac and are surrounded by like sized properties.I do not condone the feeding of wildlife in city neighborhoods, which causes overpopulation and starvation. We only supplement their protein in the drought stricken conditions we have suffered and our population has been stable. Amazingly, we have a near natural 50/50 population of bucks to does, due to many years w/o hunting pressure. Don't get me wrong, I am not against hunting and have hunted most of my life. However, I am for good game management practices and believe that past harvesting ideals have promoted a departure away from the natural state. I have never harvested an animal from my place with the exception of predators, when they become habituated.

Would love to see some more pictures. Maybe this thread could be used for everyone to post pictures of wild life.

Here are some from a few years back. The black deer in the last photo is called a "Melonistic Whitetail" They only occur in the Texas Hill Country and are very rare.

Thanks. This is the best crop in our 20 years. I'm counting a 11, 10, 2 - 9's. 8, and 6. 1st time I have seen them all together. The 10 is 3-4" outside his ears on each side.

Pretty to see until one of them jumps out from behind an overpass in the dark and you're doing 75 mph in your shiny six month old truck. BTDT.

Same here, a couple times. I try not to drive through the Texas Hill Country at night, if possible. Of course these deer do good to weigh 120 lbs dressed. Their not near a big as whitetails in other parts of the country.

Got mine at 0630 heading in to work. Took most of the front end off my Avalanche and gave me mouthful of airbag dust when both front bags went off.
