I so need help. My awning collapsed last night while I was sitting under it. It is electric. Why didn't it dump the excess rain like everyone else's Heartland in the park? I thought this was a feature. of electric awnings. I cannot find a owners manual for it nor can I figure out the brand.

Hi ValB,

We have a number of Awning documents in the manuals section of the forum, here.

On our electric awning, the arms have a spring action that allows one side or the other to drop down to shed water. I don't know if all electric awnings are designed that way.

The arms also have locking knobs that allow the awning to be positioned independently on either side, in which case the spring action is negated. On occasions where I've had the awning extended in a heavy rain storm, I'll lower one side and lock the arm so that water continually runs off.

The Auto Dump feature on my powered awning for my 2015 Trail Runner 25 RL failed and crumpled. I bought it October 22 2015. I opened it yesterday. I am so devastated as I purchased it the day my father passed to bring joy back to my life. I do not have an owners manual for it. I cannot find out who made it. I would truly love to know the warranty for this item.

If you bought the trailer new, it has a 1 year warranty. You could contact your dealer for assistance under warranty.

Did your trailer come with a blue pouch full of documentation - possibly stored in a cabinet or drawer? It probably has information on the awning.

If you can't find the pouch and you want to know the manufacturer and model of the awning, call Heartland Customer Service at 877-262-8032 / 574-262-8030. Have your VIN # ready.
