We're at the one week mark of a two week stay in Unicoi State Park, just outside Helen, Georgia. In the weeks that come I'll post more detailed info about our pull up here from Florida, more about the campground, and watch our blog for lots of pics and links of things to do in the area around Helen. For the moment here are a few highlights:
  • Easy pull up here and through Helen
  • Lots of "slide friendly" sites. We're parked next to campground hosts in a Big Horn. Lots of big Class A's. Bib Brook Loop are all full hookups, other loops are E and W but dump site is convenient to these loops
  • Helen is definately a tourist town, but small and fun to walk around if you don't take the "mock Bavarian Alps" theme too seriously
  • Some good restaurants
  • LOTS of good hiking, dozens of beautiful waterfalls, and several designated "scenic highways and byways" to drive within an hour circumfrence of the park
  • LOTS of other good place to camp, both in public and private parks
We'll definately be back next fall.

Randy and Karen

The year we were there they had drained the lake to repair the dam, we had recently acquired a Keys-hound dog and she thought she was an otter because she would just drop her head into the stream bed and push with her back feet up the stream she would go... Except for the lake being drained it was a beautiful park.....
