In a 3670, you can mount a towel bar under the bathroom cabinet using machine screws with washers and nuts. The underside of the cabinet has two thin panels but it is sturdy enough to hold it well. Drill through both to secure the bar. Next to the sink, I mounted a towel ring with a drywall anchor. So long as you don't forcefully rip the towel from the ring, pulling on it, it's secure. Over the sides of the shower surround, we've got plastic over-the-door hooks to hang extra towels.
