Warranty Issues

Anyone have any major warranty issues with the Heartland Brands ? I have a 2021 Torque Toy Hauler 26T (still in warranty). Picked it up in the South and drove it back to Calif. last year. Saved quite a bit of money, although had some problems with the fridge originally back in October of last year when I purchased it. My fridge shorted out about a month ago and stop working, finally got over to RV repair facility and when they pulled it out found that the fridge caught fire and burned a hole in the unit plus rear slide. Luckily my trailer did not burn to the ground. Now the repair bill for new fridge and fire damage is over $16K. Just wondering how this is going to play out since up till now have not been impressed at all with the Heartland brand. Already have had other unrelated repair issues with trailer ( gas leak hose, water faucet replace and toilet leaking. I fixed my self because it is almost impossible to get any quick (less than 2 months out) warranty repair work done here in Southern Calif. In fact Heartland could not even supply their substandard replacement parts in a timely fashion and was able to get them off Amazon in 3 days. Now I'm just wondering how much push back the RV Repair facility that has my trailer is going to get from Heartland ????

Any advice or experiences you have had would be much appreciated.

I'd call Heartland warranty claim department & explain everything to them & go from there. Take pictures of the damage & have last six numbers of your VIN handy, they will ask for that.

Nobody can say what Heartland has to say about warranty but Heartland, but I think that for a 16k repair it would have been prudent for the dealer to get prior approval from Heartland.

Since it was a fire is it covered by your RV insurance?

Of course the claim has been filed and waiting for approval from Heartland before work gets done. My question was how long it could take to get approval and parts if Heartland wants to supply them? I could see where this could take a couple of months or more to get resolved and repair done. It seems like the whole RV industry is a big joke when it comes to getting warranty work done after purchase. People spend tens of thousands and sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars on rigs and get the run around when they take it in for repairs. In some instances unable to use their RV for months on end waiting for service and parts. Of course its worst now due to COVID, supply chain issues and lack of RV Techs although I remember purchasing a new RV back 10 or 12 years ago and the it seemed the warranty problems were about the same although now there are more things to blame it on.
