Washington and Northern Idaho Travel

We are starting from the Joseph/Enterprise area in North East Oregon after July 4th, and have 3 weeks to explore Washington and Northern Idaho before we head over to a wedding in Long Beach, Washington. We have been to most of the National Parks in the area, but have not really explored the State of Washington or Northern Idaho. We would appreciate suggestions of areas to visit, explore and stay.

If you are in the area on a clear day, nothing beats Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park.

A really nice place we stayed a couple of summers ago was just west of Port Angeles, WA at Salt Creek County Park. The spots are first come first served, but we were able to get 3 spots on a weekend in July. The cost is $22 per night with water and electric hook-ups.

The view is GREAT, each site in the main campground has an unobstructed view across the straits to Canada. Lost of animal watching, just very relaxing.
