Oregon & Northern California

Hi all,
I was going to post in my thread asking this question last year, but the thread is closed. We're a year behind schedule but made it to Yellowstone and PNW. Spent time in Idaho, Washington, and now Oregon and onto California.
We have been in Pacific City, Oregon for the last two weeks.
Pacific City Sunset.jpg Sunset last night

We are leaving on Friday, headed south. Had mostly nice weather, sunny and warm but also had a few days of cold (relatively) and rainy. Drizzling, more like. It's sunny right now and we are going to head up to Tillamook (Yumm! Ice Cream!) and then over to Cape Meares to the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is closed, but we wanted to see it and the view.

We are en route to my hometown area of Calaveras County, CA which was recently devastated with the Butte wildfire.

We were thinking of stopping either in Coos Bay or Cape Blanco and another stop in Redwood National Park and then Mendicino, our last stop on the coast before heading east. All subject to recommendations and suggestions. :) There's a lot of places to stop since Redwood NP is so spread out. Would love Heartlanders input!!! Thanks!

Winchester Bay RV Resort, which is just north of Coos Bay has an AMAZINGLY beautiful Park. You would not regret staying there! If you are going to be further inland near Interstate 5, then Seven Feathers Casino and RV Resort is a very beautiful park as well and is going to be where we have the 2017 Pacific Region Rally. And then in Northern California you have the Premier Resorts in Redding California and Jackson Rancheria in Jackson California, which since you are from that area, I assume you are very familiar with. Hope this helps!

A neat place to stop just north of Coos Bay is Winchester Bay in Reedsport. They have a modern RV park built on fill on the water, at the mouth of the Umquah river. Look it up on the internet. I like to stop in Gold Beach Oregon, on the mouth of the Rogue River. There are at least 2 RV parks there on the beach. That is the home of the Rogue River Mail jetboat tours, also. Further south I like to stay in Trinidad, Ca. at the Enchanted Forest, and at the Fairgrounds in Ferndale, with its Victorian architecture.

Thanks for the suggestions. We spent last night in Newport. We met some new friends in Pacific City and they were here so we decided to come on down. We went crabbing yesterday off the pier and tried the fab beers at Rogue Brewery. Had a great day! Tomorrow we will head down to Winchester for two days and then still need to figure out where so stay in/near Redwood.
