We are thinking of getting a Landmark with the residential refrigerator. For those of you who have them, what do you do to keep local contaminates (calcium, lime, etc) out of the ice maker water lines?
I don't know about treating for calcium and lime, but I run two-stages of water filtration before water hits the refer. I run a whole-house sediment filter followed by a charcoal filter. I change them 2 to 3 times a year or "for cause".
Here's a picture of my current setup. Ignore the fact that I show 2 sediment filters. I goofed, then swapped out the media in stage 2 to charcoal.
