Water Heater Usage Guide

Some good info here, except perhaps for the information on corrosion protection. The anode rod protects the steel in the Suburban tank from corrosion. The lining itself cannot be fully relied on to protect the steel. The Atwood tank is made from aluminum (relatively high corrosion resistance), and has no lining.

We have developed a Water Heater Usage Guide to expand on the content in the Heartland Trailer Manual, and to consolidate much of the advice that has been offered on the forum to address questions that frequently arise.

Here's a link to the page in the manuals section of the forum.
Hey Guys. Well just want to say that I was on the verge of pulling out my newly replaced in 2022 Suburban water heater, after it stopped heating water over night. Its in a 2016 Heartland Big Horn 5th wheel. I did some tests and could not get propane to work. The electrical side worked, but water started leaking out of the relief valve. I took your advice and pulled water-resistant housing cover off the 2 reset buttons. The left side I stuck a pin in to reset otherwise it wouldn't reset. Then propnae fired up to heat tank.
So Thx for putting your troubleshooting advice on here. Not sure why I had to reset. I did change propane tanks out but shouldn't effect a reset I wouldn't think.. So back onto 12 volt with propane and not 120 volt electric .
