Water Leak

I am hoping that I can get some help on this one. I discovered a dripping water leak on the underside of the ceiling in the storge basement compartment. I removed the long smaller panel on the outside upper ceiling on the door side door and found the black water drain along with all the wirering and the hot and cold water lines. The "t" connecting those is so tight, it's unmovable. (see Pics) I am not sure how I can get this one fixed. Looks like its rubbed up against the black drain...Any ideas? Gonna call Heartland and see if the same guys fixing my awning can also fix thios leak. It's already pretty much ruined the wook like paneling so gonna work on that too....Very annoying!

If I were going to look into this problem, I would snip all the black tie straps and the tape holding the bundle of wires. Doing that looks like it will make access to the PEX a little easier.
Once you are able to pull things down a bit you might be able to get a better look at where the leak actually is.
The leak could be that the PEX fitting is not tight, a cracked plastic T, or the ABS drain pipe fitting may need some glue.
Once you have determined the source of the leak the fix should be pretty easy. Using the correct tools that is.
Let us know what you find.

Peace
Dave

Thanx....If it stops raining here long enough to work on it. I will...Thanx....I was hoping not to have to pull everything apart....If I can't do it, gonna call heartland.......since I have a tech coming out to fix the awning motor that froze up, with Heartlands approval, just might save me some frustration and have him tackle that too.....Frank

Get the serial number from your awning and check with the manufacturer. Both of the motors on my awnings (Dometic) had been recalled and were changed on their dime.

Thanx Heartland for the quick approvals.......Water leak fixed..I hope..For those of you that encounter this, the hot water line (naturally tucked the farthest up into the wall, had a crooked crimped clamp, say that 10 times) which was loose. QA and PDI by dealer should have caught that in my opinion....Had a water test for more than an hour been performed it would have been seen...Hopefully Awning motor comes in today for fix tomorrow. Then back at square one!...Traveling and enjoying!...

Good thing you caught it before it soaked everything! It's crazy but that's my biggest worry when Iam camping, not a tire blowing out or a slide not going in or stuff like that my DW thinks iam crazy iam in the storage with a flashlight at least three times a day looking and listening for drips oh well I've already found two like that ,water and wood don't mix .have a great day. ⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️

It does not hurt to periodically check the connections behind the basement wall and under the sinks. I put access panels in the basement walls so I can get a quick look around, especially when running the tank flush. Shining a flashlight around will pick up any little puddles back there. Running your hand over the fittings inside the rig will tell you if something's leaking. I have found loose threaded fittings under sinks that were seeping a bit, as well as a PEX joint in the basement that was starting to drip. That and the kitchen sink starting to drop from under the counter enough to get the bottom of the cabinet wet.

A house is no different. Fittings leak, pipes break, and half-arse construction methods/materials hidden in walls can create $$$ repairs. BTDT.

Hey Frank, Dave here, I too had a water leak but first time I went to flush a black tank, water ran out the bottom of trailer. A bunch. After taking all apart found the leak on where pex line was not crimped at all. Clamp was there but not crimped. Looks like someone looked for it because screws were out laying there. Friend and I found it and fixed it. Sounds like you got it going. Interested in recall on Dometic awning motors someone mentioned. Also leak on 1/4 plastic line going to ice maker. Whole different story but can tell it if someone needs help. When under basement area go ahead to vacum all the trask the factory left under there and tighten up connections. I feel better about them. Good luck. Dave
