Water leaking from belly of trailer while gone during the work week.

Forgot to turn water off a couple weeks ago when we left after the weekend. This weekend when we came back our fulltime camping neighbor says we had water leaking from the belly of the trailer so he turned the water off and it eventually stopped. I pulled a couple panels so I could see the plumbing lines and check for any water leakage and saw nothing, everything was dry. This morning I was checking the holding tanks and noticed something strange, the fresh water tank was full, which the last time I knew was only at 1/2 since we came back from a Tx trip 3 weeks ago. The water valve is set to city and all positions seem to work correctly when changed. I vaguely remember someone's post about the same problem. The only thing I can possibly think of is a internally leaking water manifold, bleeding water pressure into the fresh water tank line and eventually overfilling the tank over a period of the last three weeks.
If anyone remembers seeing that post or has had the same thing happen please let me know what the answer to this problem might be.
Trailer is 2014 cyclone 4100.

Hi snappy2265,

You either have a problem with the internal check valve inside your water pump allowing water to flow backwards, or you have some leakage inside the Anderson 4-way valve. The water pump has been the more common failure, but the 4-way valve has had a few too.

Page 11 of Water Systems Guide has a diagram that illustrates what's going on with a pump problem.

I had a similar event in the past.
Mine has an Anderson 4 Way Valve and it was in the city water position and my fresh water tank filled also.
I rotated the valve around to all the settings a couple times and never had it happen again.
Something must have been passing thru the valve and got caught.
I had a new valve bought but returned it , I got lucky

Can't help you with the repair.....BUT...I would never..ever leave the water turned on while I was not at my trailer. I turn off the water in our S/B when we are going to be gone for week or two. Water pressure surges are very common and can cause water lines and fittings to burst.

Thanks for the the reply, appreciate it, I thought there was a inline check valve after the pump, guess not. It does make more sense that is the check valve. We have been using the pump for the last three days to use up the water in the fresh tank. Have noticed that the pump cycles erratically for a split second which means it is loosing pressure somewhere, and cannot find any leaks, so we are going to try a $12 check valve kit first. Will let you know if that does the trick.

Our tank was filling; we replaced the pump over two years ago of full timing with no problem since. I did try first, an external check valve. I may have had it in the line too close to the pump, as it caused the pump to not work very well, so that's when I decided to get a better pump and did away with the external check.
