Where and identify the hot water heater drain plug?

Helpppp. Please. I am looking at the owners book and the water heater.

I see the pressure release lever above with the drain plate beneath it, however I can't tell where the drain plug is. It states, "drain plug located in the bottom left hand corner, remove plug. I can't tell by the black and white printed picture in our owners manual where it exactly is. What does it look like?

Can someone tell me exactly where it is? I want to drain the water heater so that I may sanitize the tanks.

it looks like a big nut. I think it is a 1-1/16" socket. I also believe it is 6 point.

Thank you, is that the large rusty nut dead center on the bottom? Or is that where the anode is?

That is the anode and drain plug all in one.

Thank you. I am sanitizing the water tank so since the anode is there, would it be best to replace the anode at this time since we are opening the plug? We owned this BH since Oct 08.

Thank you to all responders. We replaced the anode...looked pretty eaten up. So done. Ready to sanitize.
