Wipe seal corners have come unglued

Hello,

I have a 2014 trail runner 27fqbs. Im having a problem keep the wipe seal corners glued. The dealer glued them one and it lasted one trip. I glued them using contact cement and it lasted 3 trips. Does anyone know of a better glue to use or a better way to keep the corners attached. When it comes unglued the top wipe seal doesnt flip all the way either.

Thanks mike,

If contact glue is recommended, it should hold. Did you apply it to both surfaces and let it dry before you stuck them in and together? There is a waiting period for best adhesion and it should be on the label. Just a thought.

Yes I followed the instructions. I put it on both side and waited 30 min before sticking them together. When I first put them together I though it was a permanent fix because of how good it stuck but I guess not. I'm not sure what the dealer used but whatever they used didn't hold either.

Use 3M w/strip adhesive (yellow). Spray the W/strips with a dry silicone spray. They might be sticky and will pull off after sitting against a wall or slide top.

Had to repair a small section of a slide seal my self. Like you I tried that 3M (yellow) trim adhesive, and it didnt stay very long. So I used sand paper to rough up the rubber, then cleaned it with MEK. Re-glued the section again with that same 3M trim adhesive, and it had held now for 3 months.
