Almost all of the vinyl trim insert has failed on my Greystone. It cracked in the middle and was flopping in the breeze. I am going to replace all of it with new.
I have what is probably a dumb question. Should I leave the ends open, or put a dab of caulk in the ends? Part of me says the trim is there to prevent any direct water contact with the screws, so leave it open to have a bit of airflow to keep it dry and so any water that does get in doesn't sit and corrode the screws. The other part of me says seal it up tight.
What is the correct way to do this?
Thanks always,
Al
