Towing Cyclone 4100

We were informed by the dealer when we took delivery of our 2013 Cyclone 4100 that our truck wasn't rated for the rig, even signed papers acknowledging it. I wasn't too concerned since it was a 2009 Dodge 3500 Megacab DRW, thought that it was plenty of truck. After reading a lot on this forum and doing more research, I'm beginning to have some concerns. Have no idea why the 2009 has such low towing capacity. Been pulling it for a couple of years now with no problem but don't want to put the family in jeopardy. Any experiences or suggestions?

I have a 2007.5 Megacab 3500 SRW. When I was shopping for it, I was surprised to see that the DRW & SRW had the SAME payload ratings. No point in having the DRW at all. I suspect your 2009 is the same. I know its better now, but I was told these older 3500 Megacabs actually have the 2500 rear axle. I'm overloaded with a trailer that's only about 13,500 lbs loaded. Your dealer did you a favor.

I may be wrong...but it was not until the 2013 model Rams came out were they "legal" to pull a 4100 CY. I believe that your CY has a GWR of 19K. I would not pull it with anything less that a 2013 or newer 3500 DRW to be safe. JMHO

What year are the specs for?? It appears the 30K rating is only for a single cab S/B DRW for a 2015 Ram on the TV ads. Is this true??
