Here are points of interest in the Ludington, Michigan are for the Region Rally.. Something for everyone.. Come and enjoy..
WEST MICHIGAN REGIONAL MAP (http://www.visitludington.com/stories/west_michigan_map_lakeshore_region_ludington_manis tee_silver_lake_pentwater_hamlin_lake_maps)
Located halfway up the West Michigan coastline, this map encompasses an area from Manistee, 30 miles north of Ludington--to Shelby, 30 miles south of Ludington--along the US-31 highway. Within this region are the villages of Hart, Pentwater, and Silver Lake. Driving on US-10 from the east, you'll go through Baldwin, Custer, and Scottville. Or arrive by water via the S.S. Badger car ferry, which sails May-October across Lake Michigan to Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Whether you travel by car or ship, the scenery is beautiful and the experience unforgettable!

DISCOVER DOWNTOWN LUDINGTON (http://www.visitludington.com/stories/downtown_ludington_business_directory_locator_map_ mi_michigan_maps)
Only in downtown Ludington...can you shop, dine, and play while embraced by scenic views of Lake Michigan and the picturesque marinas and parks along the waterfront of Pere Marquette Lake. Browse our unique specialty stores, enjoy a meal, visit a local pub, or treat yourself to an ice cream cone. Then wander to the end of Ludington Avenue and out on the breakwall to the North Breakwater Lighthouse for a magnificent sunset. Be sure to wave at the S.S. Badger carferry as she sails out of the harbor!

LUDINGTON STATE PARK TRAILS (http://www.visitludington.com/stories/ludington_state_park_trail_guide_michigan)
The numerous trails that wind their way through the Ludington State Park are as varied as they are beautiful. The variety of trails gives visitors a choice--from a short 30 minute hike to a more leisurely 3 hour walk. Some trails are handicap accessible and others are great for an aerobic workout--the trail you select depends upon your fitness level and preferred pace. The Ludington State Park trails offer historical facts along the way and bring the natural beauty of the park in full view.
PENTWATER (http://www.visitludington.com/stories/downtown_pentwater_business_directory_locator_map_ mi_michigan_maps)
Just a few miles south of Ludington, the quaint village of Pentwater is situated on Lake Michigan and Pentwater Lake. This harbor community is a vacation-paradise, attracting visitors and seasonal residents alike. Pentwater is filled with historic village charm, beaches, boating, fishing, distinctive shopping, antiquing, art galleries, and a variety of dining and lodging facilities. While in Pentwater, be sure to visit the Village Green with ice-cream cone in hand and take a walk along the Charles Mears State Park beach.
SCOTTVILLE (http://www.visitludington.com/stories/scottville_business_directory_locator_map_mi_michi gan_maps)
Scottville is the home of two "famous" attractions: the wild and zany Scottville Clown Band and the West Michigan Old Engine Club. The Scottville Riverside Park, on the Pere Marquette River, has 52 full service sites--and a swimming pool--perfect for tent and trailer camping. The Scottville Main Street business district is filled with charming stores and friendly merchants, who welcome you to relax and browse.
SILVER LAKE SAND DUNES (http://www.visitludington.com/stories/silver_lake_business_directory_locator_map_mi_mich igan_maps)
The Silver Lake Sand Dunes is a favorite West Michigan destination, offering 2,000 acres of sand dunes to hike and enjoy. Explore the dunes aboard a dune scooter tour, or rent an off-the-road vehicle and head out on your own. Don't miss the century old Little Sable Point Lighthouse in a picturesque setting popular with artists, photographers and lighthouse enthusiasts.
DOWNTOWN MANISTEE RIVERWALK (http://www.visitludington.com/stories/downtown_manistee_business_directory_locator_map_m i_west_michigan_maps)
The city of Manistee is an exciting place to live and a wonderful place to visit. With its location along Lake Michigan, you can enjoy fantastic fishing, boating, and swimming. The Manistee-Huron National Forest, which stretches for miles, offers hiking, biking, and camping. A mile-long riverwalk runs throughout the historic business district along the edge of the Manistee River.

Two-thirds sold - awesome news! With Chuck and Saundra registering, that's a great kick-off towards to remaining third of sites remaining.

Just a few months away folks - time to sign up for what should be a fun event.

I might be headed back that way, so in a month or so if there are any open spots I may just sign up!

However, my 40th. HS class reunion is in Jackson, MI in October and was planning on going to Michigan then.

I’ll let you know!

I am guessing Pueblo to Ludington is 12-1300 miles. You can make that in 4 days even as slow as you drive!

JohnD

From the driveway of my soon-to-be former house to the West Ave. exit in Jackson it is 1280 miles (made that drive probably 10 times over the years).

Ludington is on the west coast of Michigan, so maybe 150 miles less.

Depends on whether I settle down someplace between now and then.

Haven't made a reservation as yet, but we love Poncho's Pond. Probably coming in on Tuesday and leaving Sunday or Monday. Got the boss's approval tonight.

Sorry, but major changes have happened with the Batckes. We had an accident with the Bighorn in Southern Tennessee on the way to Florida and was able to get enough patched so we could continue on to our destination. We decided to wait until we got home to have the repairs made. However, the repairs were significant enough that the insurance company totaled out the unit. Unfortunately, a 2006 Bighorn is not worth all that much. We accepted the buyout and are now homeless as far as campers are concerned. My brother bought the unit from the insurance company and now has it on his hunting property.

We had been planning to attend both the Ludington event (we love Poncho's Pond) and the Empire rally and had hoped for the Goshen rally in 2019. Now plans have changed. We did talk about replacing the unit, but, at our age, it doesn't seem practical.

It's been great the past 13 years and thanks to all for all the help you gave us when we were Michigan chapter leaders. I still remember our first Goshen rally when there were only 20-some units there. How you all have made the club grow. We wish nothing but the best for all of you and the club and chapter.

I unfortunately had to cancel from this rally...

Something has come up (nothing bad, but really good...will tell later), but I will need to be about 2000 miles away the weekend of this event!

I was so looking forward to attending this rally in my home state, however, I guess it will have to be one in the future!

I am planning on coming back to Michigan in October for my 40th class reunion, and if by chance there is something going on around that time I'll try to make that one!

Again, sorry for the cancellation and I know you will all have a blast!

I will be at the Mountain Regional HOC Rally in Pueblo, Colorado the weekend before and will be thinking of you guys while there!

By the by, I think I signed up for the T-shirt...I will still take that if possible or will donate it to the cause (can't remember if I paid for it yet).

Thanks for the interest in the rally. This is generally addressed In the first post of the rally thread but generally you would call the park and tell them you are with the Heartland Owners club group, make your reservation and pay as they require.
As for this rally, because it is a regional rally you must have a Heartland branded Rv to participate. As of my last speaking with them a few days ago the park is sold out and there is a waiting list. I would call the park because that could change day to day. Good luck and hope to see you there or at a another one.

We were previously going to arrive today (Tuesday). Ironic how work gets in the way of fun sometimes!!!

I will also need to order an alternate from Sparky's on pizza night.......I think you know why....ha,ah

Thanks
Jim

getting close to the end. We will have a continental breakfast tomorrow, a cornhole tournament with chilidogs, a catered dinner with apple roasted pork loin and beef wellington followed by the Scottville clown band to close out activities. The park will provide a pancake breakfast on Sunday. the owner of the park told me " You Heartlanders know how to throw a party". We also have Heartland corporation videoing us. Fun fun fun

What everyone else is saying.
Thanks Gerry & Debbie, we had a wonderful time. Things sure quieted down after all the rednecks left 😉. I’m going to have to dig out my “Debbie boots” this morning as it’s seriously raining in Ludington and we are heading home this morning.

Well, I guess we must be one of the rednecks. We left yesterday morning to head home.
Anyway thanks Gerry and Debbie. We had a great time.
Be safe and see you down the road.

We feel bad for the Heartlanders, that DID NOT attend the North Central Regional Rally '18. Old friends, new friends, Beautiful RV Resort, Great food ( and plenty of it ) .. Simply a WONDERFUL experience. If you haven't attended a rally put on by Gerry & Debbie, you're missing out!! They are true professionals, that create the atmosphere for everyone to have a GREAT time!! They go 'above & beyond' in all respects. THANK YOU, Gerry & Debbie. Job WELL DONE .. Again!!

I heartfelt thank You to all who attended the rally from Deb and I. So many new and old friends along with so much help. Love to see the photos (Thanks Dave and Karen). We truly enjoyed doing this rally and hope to see all down the road.
It was really awesome to see 11 first timers of which three were signed up at the Park.
A special thanks to Poncho's Pond (Nan and Erika) who along with their staff gave more than I could have possibly have hoped for.
Hope to get more pics up soon.

Debbie also spent her ride home calling rv parks for our 2020 rally. (COMING SOON!!!)

Debbie and Gerry (and all the R.A.T.s) thanks for hosting a great rally. We needed to come earlier so we would have more time to visit and sightsee but everything was super nice!

Love looking at the pics. Unless they're all hosted somewhere, I'd love to see more of the best of the best. Thanks for taking pics Dave!
