Since I will not have room to sit up my Tekonsha P3 brake controller what do those of you have this controller and are towing one of the 16000 pound Heartland have yours set at?

I had a lighter TT with the Tekonsha....had it set at 5. That may be a safe number to start at as it adjusts its self for the weight towed.

I do not have the P3, but my Prodigy does have the boost option.

I have mine set at 6, and a boost level of 1.

I played around with mine and set it on boost 3 and all the trailer tires locked up when I lightly applied the brakes. I have found that if you are towing on none hilly terrain boost 1 is perfect. These are great brake controllers as you get used to yours you will be able to set the unit to your own personnel preferences. Fair winds and following seas to ya!

I tow a Sundance 2900MK, and find my P3 set at 5.7 with Boost 1 works well. I have also used Boost 2, but as mentioned previously Boost 3 will lock trailer brakes before TV brakes apply. The DVD tutorial that came with the P3 is very good, explains set-up and features very well.
