What's your favorite carry weapon?

Springfield XDM 9mm for that I carry on me. In the 5er I keep the Taurus Judge to use when in the camp grounds. Don't want a stray round going thru another camper. I am a expert marksman, but, anybody that is a Police Officer or Combat Veteran that has actually had to engage will tell you that it's a lot different when your not on the range and especially when the targets are shooting back. I know from experiance that I will do what it takes to defend myself so I will definatly defend my family but if I was to injury/kill a innocent bystander I don't think I would be able to forgive myself for it even if it was an accident and especially if it could have been prevented by something as simple as weapon selection. Sig P250 9mm. Sig makes some top notch pistols that work when you need em!! Lots of people say the 9mm has no stopping power but new expanding ammo makes up for that, plus if you shoot straight who cares!! Plus you can carry 13 Rds so who cares if you shoot super straight??? Sig pistols JUST WORK.

Really like the Colt, but as budgets go... I have the Hi-point .45 Please don't laugh... It does what it's supposed to do.

Jason, You post reminds me that the true effectiveness of a weapon lays in the ability of the person holding it, and not the name stamped on the side. The thug who tries to harm your family won't be laughing either, nor will he care you didn't squeeze one off from a Colt! Be wise. Be safe. Be ready.

Out of curiousity, what are you guys using for pocket carries? I'm looking for something smaller than my 9mm P-11 but still have enough punch to do the job.

Smith and Wesson Airweight 38 SPL +p (Model 642). No external hammer. Good for pocket holster or in waistband with a barrel loop holster. Great backup gun when you're not dressed for the 45.

Ruger LCP 380 auto with a Laserlyte side mount laser pointer. Carried in a Black Hawk Size 1 pocket holster. Really convenient to grab and stick in pocket when I'm headed out the door in a hurry.

I've been looking at that one online. I prefer a DAO pistol over a revolver.

Thanks, but the Glock 26 is actually a bit bigger than my P-11.

Here's a little .380 auto by Taurus. Not sure of the specs but at 10.2 oz, it sure is light.

I was watching "Handguns" last night and they talked about this gun. They had all good comments on it and for a list of $350. It sure looks like a nice little weapon.

Do some shopping around. I got mine for $290 at a local gun shop/range. The Laserlyte was about $73 from MidwayUSA.com.

If you are looking for a small carry pistol, but dont want to give up stopping power. Look at the Kahr CW series. about the same size as a Bersa 380, but available in 9mm or .40 caliber.
