Looks like a Chevy Silverado ???. Rig has paper plates. That is a front living floorplan Montana.

Wondering if that truck is adequate??

Looks like a 2500 or SRW 3500 to me, looks like 8 lugs and towing mirrors, the 2500 with a Duramax will tow at least 18000lbs. We used to have a front living room Montana it was about 15700-16000lbs, shouldn't be an issue for that truck.

Did not see any duramax badging.

Another pic. No 2500 badging, is that normal?

I was just looking at the lugs and mirrors, that's not a half ton, if it's not a duramax and its a 6.0 gasser I wouldn't want to tow that trailer with it.

There is a big difference between what you can tow behind a truck and how much weight it can carry in the bed, IE Pin Weight.

It looks like a half ton (1500) to me. I've never seen a 2500 or 3500 without badging.

Well, sadly we didn't have time. On our way home again. Hope they have what they need to be towing safely, or learn quickly if they don't. Like I said, the trailer was new. Tag on trailer said good to Oct 6, 2016, so a fairly recent purchase.

Looks like a gasser. Doesn't appear to have the larger trumpet-like tailpipe end that a GM diesel would have.

That's the Texas Edition badge on the side; it began production in 14' I think. Not a coincidence as it appears the truck is tagged in Texas where this model production began. It appears to be the LT model as Chevy only places it on the LT and LTZ 1500. Part of the package is the 20' upgraded wheels and upgraded mirrors. I say it's an LT as the mirrors are not chrome which they do for the LTZ model. It is a gasser. Chevy may have changed something since 14', but this is how I remember it.

It did say LT on the back passenger tailgate. And it has Texas Edition badging on the doors and beside the LT.

It is at least a 2500HD (I can tell by the grill) but I think it is a 3500HD . . . and it is a gasser (I can tell by the hood) . . .

I know this 'cause I have one:

ProwlerInSantaFe-IMAG0216.jpg ProwlerNextToHouse-P1010691.jpg

I have the double cab, that one has the crew cab.

I have the 6.0L gasser with the 4.10 rear end and that Montana is too big for my truck . . . our Prowler isn't.

But John, I can't find a single reference to a Texas Edition where the badging doesn't have 2500HD or 3500HD on it. That's what is suspect. The truck looked "very small" compared to our 3500....

But if we assume it was a single wheel 3500, max 5ver tow on a 2015 is 14100, payload 4050.

I wonder if maybe the owner of the truck replaced the 2500HD/3500HD door logo with the Texas Edition logo . . .

It's a 3500 High Country 6.0 Flex-Fuel model- you can tell from the cab lights, the small exhaust. They strip the 3500/2500 badge when they put on the High Country badge. It will still show LT/LTZ on the tailgate. The best way to know it's a 3500 is the cab-lights. It would be an add-on for a 2500, stock for a 3500.
The attached picture is a Duramax, but the same truck comes in the 6.0 flex-fuel.
(I did lots of homework before I bought my truck. I couldn't decide what I wanted!)
