    Big horn & f-350

My Road Warrior is a 16K GVW and my truck with 3.55s flies with it. I blew over Monument Pass last weekend at 75 mph. Only time it slows down is going up I-70, which any truck will do at 10K feet. I typically tow between 70-80 with it and really don't have any trouble at all.

Advice on choice of new TV please

Well, if you want the best tow vehicle, the EcoBoost is in a different class. My neighbor just bought one to tow his Focus after dumping his underpowered Tahoe. I understant you wouldn't drive a Ford, I wouldn't drive a Gov't Motors vehicle if you gave it to me. So, I guess I respect that...

Took delivery of our 300C finally!

Hey Crazy, had some of the same observations for my Road Warrior 30C, which is identical. My SRW F350 has it sitting just as nose high as yours does in the picture. I can't lower the pin box anymore or it will be too close to the bed rails. As for the length, I was told they had to lengthen...

    07 Dodge 3500---BLACK OIL !!!!!

Freezing is perfectly fine. There is a heater in the tank that comes on when the truck is started, but everything is designed to freeze. The engine doesn't call for UREA until it is warmed up. The pump actually pulls the DEF back into the tank when you shut off the engine so the lines don't...

    New Ford F350 Diesels

A bunch of great posts on this. I have 27K on mine and couldn't be happier. Honestly, Ford is just miles ahead of GM and Dodge (with no gov't bailout money too!!) The tranny was a bit curious when it first came out, there were a few TSB releases that fixed some things and made others worse...

Road Warrior 405 first 4 months

We have had a fair share of issues too. My bigger issue has been the dealer being so completely unhelpful. Rear leg on dining table in toy box broke, took 3 months to get in. Landing gear hasn't worked right for 2 months, dealer can't seem to figure out what it is. Only extends, doesn't...

Landing gear issues and dealer is zero help

Yes, I have the hydraulic landing gear. I will give them a call tomorrow, closed as of right now. Thanks for the tip!

Landing gear issues and dealer is zero help

Thanks, I will check it out. The basement on this unit is very funky, the door on the driver's side is only about 10" wide. I wonder if I should just pull out the switch and start with that.

Landing gear issues and dealer is zero help

I went to hook up the other day to my new RW, and the landing gear will not retract. It will go higher, but when I press the retract button, nothing happens. I pressed it probably 20 times and held it, and maybe for 2 of those, I could hear a motor run but no movement. I started the generator...

    300C towing question

Yep, way too much weight for a 250. I have the 30C which is the same trailer with a 350. These have very high pin weights from the titanium front end. I have had no issues pulling mine 75 mph in some high winds. It definately pulls a lot better with the tanks full than empty. I have about...

Looking for Help with 3010 Decision

That was true on the older versions, but on the 300C and the 30C there is nothing other than the full body paint and the HD package. They are identical. Used to be the RW didn't have things like Fantastic Fan, second A/C wiring, etc. The 30C has all of these things. The HD package with the...

    Windish RV/Denver, CO. Positive experience

I agree. I took my 2010 Cougar to their Longmont store for service, even though they were not a Cougar dealer because of Alan's service. When it was clear the Cougar wasn't working out for our needs, they were fantastic on the RW purchase. They really do a great job.

Newest GM versus Ford shootout 04/01/11

Sure you were bashing me, but I am fine with it. Honestly, I am over it, have been. Just fun to stir the pot on the Ford/Dodge/Obama Motors debate. See? Just did it again. To be honest, they are all awesome trucks, think about how much more truck you get today from any of these guys than...

    Toy box weight offset

I bet you will lose 300-400 pounds or so fully loaded. As a rule of thumb, hitch weight is roughly 15% of weight of trailer. Ours is 16K, so that would put it at 2400 pounds hitch weight, following that logic. However, the Titanium nose cone ads quite a bit of weight to it, so the calculation...

Is an F-450 a good idea?

Re: F450 Insurance and 5th wheel & WY I am a member over there too and have had 2 7.3Ls, but with over 200K on the clock still running today. The difference in the new and old trucks is night and day. I loved my 7.3s, but don't miss them for a second. The 2011 is a much nicer, much safer...
