    2016 3260?

Hi floorplan experts. Is there a model 3260EL for 2016? I see one here https://lakeshore-rv.com/rvs/2016-bighorn-3260el-floor-plan-5th-wheel-heartland-rv/ but nothing on the heartland website describing this floorplan. it appears to be a longer 3160 with a king bed :-) . will this be...

    2015 ram shortbox without slider?

yes I've been chewing on that as well -- trying to avoid rails in the bed, so that B&W companion slider is looking good. this is the only slider solution I'm aware of that does not use rails; the B&W turnoverball system seems very attractive to me -- more so than the current OE hitch preps...

    2015 ram shortbox without slider?

Sure, Ram does offer the GM and Ford equivalents -- those are crew cabs in Ram terminology. In addition to the standard crew cab offerings (which have LB flavors), Ram offers a more spacious mega cab with reclining rear seats. the W/B is so long they don't offer it in the long box.

yea I would be all over a LB but DW wants the mega cab...

    2015 ram shortbox without slider?

lol that's funny. So at the time you nearly soiled your shorts, were you running a B&W turnoverball system? Here some more specific details behind my question: 1. I'm told that the B&W system in combination with the new RAM S/B trucks offer a very high success rate without a slider. these...

    2015 ram shortbox without slider?

Hello all -- posting here to ask for real -world 2013-2015 Ram 3500 SRW short box 'no slider' hitch combos that are working "in the wild". In particular I'd like to know if any of you BH owners are towing with the B&W companion (turnoverball or puck ready) with this TV -- do you find that the...

need feedback on 6 pt leveling systems (good, bad and the ugly)

good conversation, all, thanks. I suspect that electrical failure is much higher probability than hydraulic failure, in which case the Lippert over ride system (as pointed out by danemayer should work well. Essentially (thanks danemayer) this allows one to run the hydraulic pump with a drill...

2015 Ram Mega Cab hitch clearence

Too many variables to generalize, but you can measure this -- Tie a string to the pin, stretch it out to the edge of the Elkridge, then swing the string around to see how close it comes to the cab. Or measure the distance from hitch to cab and compare that against the half the width of the...

2015 Ram Mega Cab hitch clearence

ok I gotta ask you experienced short bed guys: do you like your manual sliders or do you wish you had put in the (heavy) pull-rite dynamic type system you can forget about? And does the HL front cap really give you an advantage? The reason I ask is because we short bed guys have to watch our...

    Ceiling Fan

I wonder if it would be best to leave the fan off? The AC air will naturally fall and hot air will naturally rise, so maybe the ceiling fan is interfering with the natural air flow that the HVAC system natively provides.

    some pre-purchase 'option questions'

good advise AI.K. its hard to do and takes time when the driving distance is 2.5 hours :-) but you are absolutely right, and thank-you for the tips. I've never felt the TV was in a bad spot -- in fact it can be seen from anywhere including the kitchen and the stairs, and TV is just not the...

    2500 vs 3500 SRW

Some good sense here - if the question is about 3500 SRW vs DRW for a 14,000 lb. trailer, there's just no beating the stability built into the dually, even though a 3500 SRW will be within its weight limits. Some folks have limitations and need a SRW truck -- and the new ones especially are...

    2500 vs 3500 SRW

while extrapolating pin weight is certainly a reasonable "first cut" approximation (I've done it), it may not be a good indictor of loaded pin weight (as I have found out too). it would be best to understand where the water tanks and storage locations are (with respect to the axles). nothing...

    2500 vs 3500 SRW

right that was where I was headed as well. and as pointed out by myself and others, you have to consider GAWR of the TV as well, and pin weight contributes to that. a 6500 lb axle in a 9750 lb tube is still only a 6500 lb axle, and even then you are going to be GVWR limited, not GAWR limited :-)

    2500 vs 3500 SRW

I' not familiar with Ford drive trains... but that is an interesting way to rate the rear GAWR! A 9750 lb axle is found only on duallies (in the dodge world), accompanied by four tires and suitable increases in GVWR as well, over the SRW trucks. You're saying you can put 22.5" rims and a G...
