Dave,
After my first towing adventure with the old TT, I completely see what you mean. 8.5 MPG pulling about 8500#'s. Oh Well Maybe a Diesel in 2017 or 2018. Hey a man can dream. LOL
Regards,
Jim,
I really loved the RAM 2500. Only problem is... Dodge doesn't build a family truckerster that will accommodate a family of 5. Hands down I would have bought the dodge if it were not for the crappy rear seat. I 3 kids and even my smallest could not comfortable sit in the middle of the rear...
Trevor,
I just went through this whole ordeal only mine was with an F-150 and a conventional TT. Since the dealer screwed me once, shame on him. But here is my new formula. Look at the GVWR for your F350, then subtract that from the CGVWR and that will put you at a safe Max for your trailer. :)...
So I did my homework. Feels like I know more about diesel engines than I ever cared to know. :D Our Logic, is that the $8300 for the Diesel, $4/per gallon, plus the cost of DEF, and the higher maintenance costs just weren't worth the benefits. When my wife looks at the truck she see's my...
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all the awesome feedback and suggestions. Have you ever been in a situation where she knows best? :) Well I just experienced it! We ended up buying an F-250 with the 6.2 gas engine. Totally not what I was expecting. However the good new is that we have decided on a...
Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all the input! Wife is worried that the 350/3500 is to much for a commuter car. I would much rather have the 350/3500 But at this point the truck purchase may be moot! I'll keep you updated! :(
Chris
I am too. But the ford's are more expensive. Can you offer any reason for your preference? Not trying to start the truck wars, just looking for idea to push me one way of the other since this is my first diesel. :)
Hey Everyone,
Received permission to upgrade TV. Leaning toward Diesel now I have to decide which one. Oh and if I upgrade I will be upgrading the TT to a 5th Wheel
Any Suggestion?
Chris
LOL You are a brave soul. Be careful and make sure you check State laws as I believe there are quite a few state that make towing like that illegal. 5th Wheel to Conventional is legal or so I heard. Nice Truck by the way! Getting ready to sell my F-150 for a larger truck.
Apparently I missed...
Hey Everyone. I didn't realize this thread was still being replied too. Thank you for all the responses. The CEO has approved the purchase of a 3/4 or 1 ton! Woot! Then to the RV show for 5th Wheel!
Thanks again.
Hello everyone,
I need help determining what kind of electric tongue Jack I need. We have a Prowler 27 BHS. Tongue weight is 750lbs. My question is do I need a 2500lbs jack or a 3500lbs jack?
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Chirs
Justafordguy,
I am a newbie to RV'ing and towing in general. In one of my threads, someone asked if my fresh water tank was empty. Even with tank baffles you may still get the sloshing effect. I am pulling a 27' Prowler with an F-150. I didn't go over 60 but the only time I noticed any sway was...
James,
Here is my trip report! First of all the truck handled great! The addition of Light truck tires made a significant improvement in my opinion. (Plus they made feel better) It was bouncy when hitting big bumps in the road, but other than that no issue. Make sure your WDH is set correctly...
