So I assisted the mobile tech with replacing the window, and I'm glad I did because now I have the knowledge to do it on my own if I ever need to do it in the future. It is surprisingly simple... total cost was $450 for the window from Heartland, and $300 for the tech to put it in. I'm glad...
My Bighorn is only a few months old, and the caret on the steps to the bedroom already looks worn as well. Anyone have any pics of some that have been redone?
I was able to do the repair on my own since I'm still relatively young, but if I was older, this would not have been possible for me. I try not to get upset about it since it was something I could fix, but I'm concerned about other problems that will arise from simple factory oversights...
I noticed the underbelly was swelling and leaking water thisweekend, so I dropped the underbelly to take a look and found that the greywater tank the shower drains to had become completely disconnected from thedrain pipe. I connected them backtogether, and tightened the metal clamp and the...
so the mower tossed a rock and shattered my window, and Heartland says they can't send just the bottom glass that's broken. They have to send the entire window for about $350, and it'll take them about four weeks to send it. I didn't realize a broken window could be such a pain...
I used the Curt adjustable hitch # 13703. It's on Amazon for about $197. The mounting holes don't line up, so I used a hand drill to make new holes. This hitch is made of a very high quality steel, so drilling it isn't easy... I tarted with small bts and worked my way up to te larger bits. If...
When I bought my Bighorn, I thought the 6-point stabilizing system would be enough to keep the RV from rocking much but when you have a 10-year, I quickly learned it isn't enough. What has made a world of difference for me was adding a touch- point to the ground in the very front of the RV, as...
Ok, thank you for the information. I definitely would have put the jack directly on the tube... If you don't put the jack on the tube, where do you put it?
On another note, I just got off the phone with Heartland and they think I should buy a new Brakecontroller even though mine works well...
When the emergency breakaway cable is pulled, where does thepower come from to lock the wheels? Does it come from the tow vehicle, or fromthe RV battery?
Next, the trailer is currently leveled with the automaticleveling system and setup on my campsite. Can I just use a jack and lift up onetire...
Ok here’s a picture of what the brake wires look like at thebackside of the tires. The wires gointo the axle and into to the back of the hub assembly. I know ya’ll say I should check them but whatam I supposed to do, take the whole drum apart? I’m afraid I’m about to just break out my wallet...
I have printed the articles and started self-educating. If I can't figure it out from here, I will go the mobile service route. Many thanks for your help!!
Will
so I used a tester to check the pigtail at the back of the truck and it was all fine, and the tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals on the trailer all work fine as well. It was suggested above to check the "junction box" for loose connections, but I'm not exactly sure how to do that. I'm...
I have already determined the issue is with the trailer because I connected my truck to the trailer next to me, and everything worked fine with the break-controller and all.
