    Single Rear Wheel or Duals?

One reason I haven't installed it is I will have to remove the plastic hubcap which will make the King Ranch truck look bad. You know my vanity lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Terrible Service from Cyclone Dealer and Heartland RV.

I understand where you are coming from. And it is sad that you have to be proactive with a dealer's service department, but the fact is that is how a good majority of the dealers are. Until the RV industry changes their business model and holds their dealers responsible that will not change...

    snow

Once we had a rain then it froze that night. The next morning when I put the slide in the leave I heard a large crack and thought something broke. Then I realized that I had ice on top of the slide topper and the crack I heard was the ice breaking. Luckily nothing broke other than the ice.

Year2: Build Quality is starting to worry me

While growing up my father was the 'fixer-upper' and the 'shade-tree' mechanic. I remember once I broke the floor shift mechanism on our 1932 Model A (acting stupid). My father said 'you broke it, you fix it'. I told my father once that I wanted to learn how to work on a car so that summer we...

    What do you do

Just wanted to pass along a couple of tips. Will it fit? To check if you RV will fit in a site measure how far the slide extends beyond the side the RV then mark that distance with a string. Do the same with each slide. Then extend the string the length of the electrical cord. (may have...

Terrible Service from Cyclone Dealer and Heartland RV.

FYI - If you are capable and want to Heartland RV will ship parts directly to you and you can do the repairs yourself. We do that with the minor stuff. That way we know it gets done right :)

    Hello

There is a large price differentiation between dealers. Years ago when we were shopping for a new 5er we found a $10000 difference in the retail price and a 10000 difference in our trade for a $20,000 difference. Same model, same floorplan, same color. The only difference is the less...

    2015 f250 Superduty pulling Greystone 32re

Add airbags to level out the tow vehicle. Also you should get your rig weighed. Individual wheel weights are the best but if you can get that at least stop by a Pilot truck stop and weigh the rig/tow vehicle combo and then the tow vehicle by itself. Then you can figure your pin weight. We...

Traffic warning from Larry the Cable Guy!!!

Probably cheaper to replace the sign then repair the bridge. Still don't know why they build them with less than 14 feet clearance.

    Furnace warm not hot

Be careful about closing off vents as you could cause the furnace to overheat activating the thermal cutoff.

Not getting "Warm Fuzzies". Please help restore my faith.

Heartland makes great units. I believe you will not find anything wrong any more than you would with a Montana. Probably less. Keep in mind that regardless which brand you go with most of the components are made by the same manufacturer i.e. Dometic, Lippert, Norcold, Thetford, etc. These...

Item For My Wishlist: An Automated Awning

I have seen many holes siliconed and they seemed alright. The other alternative would be to get a body shop to fix it with fiberglass. The main thing would be for the hole not to leak.

    Diesel lower than Gas

I don't know if you would think that way if you lived in the Houston (energy corridor) area. Due to the low crude prices thousands have been loosing their jobs. We would like to see a happy medium in the energy prices. Keep in mind when as many as 10000 loose their jobs in a single area that...

Sick of Heartland Big Horn! Worst purchase we have ever made

I look at this issue as you have to be willing to do 'preventive maintenance' and normal maintenance. Just like your sticks and bricks home there are things there that have to be maintained. What aggravates me are things that break due to shoddy workmanship, such as trim falling off, fender...

Haier Refrigerator Warranty problem. " Caveat-Emptor"

Re: Haier Refrigerator Warranty problem. " Caveat-Emptor" I don't know if this is still true but I was always told that after transporting a refrigerator it needs to 'rest' 24 hours before using to allow the freon to 'settle' and that using it before that time could be hard on the...

    Diesel lower than Gas

Isn't it strange how businesses seem to take advantage of members of the military by 'over' charging them. Been that way as long as I can remember. Even overseas that happens. We were paying (back in 1966) $35. a month rent for a duplex where the civilian family was paying $20 for the same...

    Manual for Bighorn 3875FB

Yes you have to remember that unhappy people tend to complain whereas happy people do not make post about how happy they are (as a rule). Also things are bound to 'slip thorough the cracks' when manufacturing as many units as quickly as they do. The biggest thing people need to remember is...

    RV Repair Service

I would suggest you ask the park management. They usually know who preforms service at their park. They can also tell you who is better than others.

    Recliner removal

Our theater seating is easy. Turn it upside down and there are two bolts holding the center storage to the metal frame. Remove the storage and that separates the storage from the frame. then unbolt the frame from the recliners.

Terrible Service from Cyclone Dealer and Heartland RV.

Always double check behind a repair facility when they say they have ordered parts. They are notorious for lying about that. I have found them to not be truthful on more than one occasion.

    Single Rear Wheel or Duals?

When we had our 1999 Ford F350 SRW we towed both an Alfa Gold 40' fifth wheel and our previous Landmark 40'. Then we got our 2012 F350 Dually. We towed our previous Landmark 40' and our current Landmark 43'. The biggest difference I see is the stability with the dually being much more stable...

    condensation in winter?

Thank goodness we have never experienced this to any great degree. When reading manuals about using the furnace for heating it is suggested you keep a window or vent slightly opento help ventilate and hold the dampness down.

    extended warranty information

The proof is really what do the RV Repair centers accept. No warranty is worth anything is it is not accepted at a repair facility or if you have to pay out of pocket and then wait to be reimbursed.

    Sewer Flush Not Taking Water

On the older units 2006,07,08 the backflow valve was in the wall behind the toilet. You may be able to access it by removing the fire extinguisher mount and finding the line behind there. Some have actually had to cut a hole in the wall to access it, back in the day. Good luck.

    Stackable w/d which is best?

We have the Pinnacle combo. It replaced Majectic stackables. The combo does an alright job but the stackable seems to work better. The Splendid is the RV Standard and everyone we have talked to loves them.

Jack antenna - low signal on one channel

Not much you can do but try upgrading. We went to the Winnegard Razor automatic antennae and love it. Kind of pricey at $359.00 plus insulation but to us it was worth the price. Once you are set up just press the button and the antennae finds the stations. You don't have to worry about...

Ball Coupler 5th Wheel Hitch Dolly

I could be wrong but looking at many of the 18 wheelers that double and triple tow they use a dolly very similar to this to hook up the 2nd and 3rd trailers. Must be safe enough to work or it would not be allowed.

    Small tear in awning

There is a clear awning repair tape you can get at your nearest RV supply parts store. The tape is very sticky and will keep the awning from tearing more. We have used it several times with good success. Can't remember the brand name of it but just ask the parts person at the store and they...

    Can we blow over?

I would suggest everyone get the free app called 'Weather Bug' for your phone. You can see live weather radar, get forcasts, temps, and it will alarm with weather bulletins for your location. We use it all of the time.

Splendide all in one machine **LINT AND HAIR ON CLOTHES **

Our Pinnacle is a combo washer/dryer and there are no int issues or wrinkling. The Pinnacle is externally vented (although it can be used without the vent) and in the drying cycle is sprays a little water to help keep the wrikles down. Works great.
