I don't know why one source would stink and the other wouldn't but I had to run some vinegar through a hot water heater one time to get rid of the sulfur smell. I drained the hot water heater and poured the vinegar in and let it set for a few hours and after I ran it out I never had a problem...
One of the grandsons broke the handle on one of our chairs by leaning back while trying to put the footrest down. I stopped at a furniture store and showed them the broken handle. They had spare ones and gave me one. I have forgotten what brand chair they said it was but it was a pretty popular...
There was a big Volvo tractor cab pulling a fifth wheel arrived at the rv park yesterday. They have a small car that they carry behind the cab of the tractor and in front of the fifth wheel. Believe me they really get noticed. I don't know if he has a loader like the one shown. I want to watch...
I thought I should warn people that if you use the 450 lumen LEDs from Rigid Industries they run a little hot in the ceiling fixtures and will turn the lenses yellow. I am running them without the lenses now and keeping an eye on the fixtures to make sure the don't melt the plastic in the...
Yes! I ran the new duct to the livingroom entirely thru the inside of the Bighorn. Under the fridge-behind the cabinets and out thru a vent I installed in the end of the cabinet that faces the livingroom. I used a white, round, plastic vent instead of a register and it looks like it belongs there.
Hi. I had to change out some connections inside the frame on the Bighorn before to get decent reception. I am thinking that if I could find a way to run all of the coax inside that it would stay weatherproof and maybe the connections would be more reliable. I like the idea of the jack antenna...
Our bedroom got too hot and the livingroom stayed too cold until I removed the bedroom ducting from the back of the furnace plenum and ran a new duct to the livingroom. If you can get at the back of the furnace plenum you can switch the way you want the heat to run. We get enough heat from the...
I don't remember seeing any warnings about any possible interference with objects when opening or closing the slides and never gave it much thought other than moving the recliners out of the way until we went to our first rally and somebody suggested wrapping an elastic strap around the cabinet...
I changed the ceiling lights to 450 lumen cool white LEDs and what a difference in the amount of light we get now. I installed one 450 lumen and one 300 lumen in each of the double fixtures. The difference between the yellow light from the automotive type bulb and the white light from the LEDs...
Re: Entance Door - Window
Yes! I replaced mine with lexan from Lowes about two years ago so I can see out. I stuck some window tint and a decal on it so it makes it harder for somebody to see in but we can still see out. Lowes cut it to size. I think it is one of the handiest things I've done. Tom
Thanks! Now I know what all is on one of the circuits. As far as I know there aren't any wiring diagrams for these units and I guess if you want to know you just have to figure it out for yourself. I just haven't taken time to run through all of my receptacles to see which ones are on what...
I glued a wooden based TP holder to the glass shower wall next to the toilet. The first time I glued it up with Gorilla glue and I found out gorilla glue deteriorates in about a years time. Since then I have glued it up with Locktite quick set type epoxy. This looks like it will hold a lot...
On the Samsung in the 09 bighorn my grandson helped me get tv sound through the surround sound. I don't remember if he had to change any wires around but I know he didn't have to add any. On the back of the tv there are three RCA cables connected red and white on the upper left and a yellow one...
It looks like the shackle plates are what failed. When they installed the wet bolts on mine, over at Mor Ryde they used heavier shackle plates. I am trying to get grease in all of the wet bolts now. I want to thank the guys who told me to get the wet bolts installed on mine right away. Tom
I removed the rusty one from the front door side today and was going to paint it. I decided I didn't want one that would tend to rust again. Optronics makes one that has a stainless steel base and another that has a molded plastic base. I ordered the molded plastic one from Etrailer for $9.95...
I don't haul buckets into the rig I set one bucket in the kitchen sink and turn the water on and then go into the bathroom and hold my foot part way down on the foot pedal until the bowl is nearly full. I go get the bucket from the kitchen and flush the water down the bowl. Then I hold the...
I have never had that happen but I have ran the tank wash with the handle closed for a few minutes after the tank failed to drain completely, to try to loosen a build up. I found that what works best is to start draining with the tank wash turned on and the valve open. If that doesn't get it...
I am curious as to what they cost now too. I think the price has gone up on them considerably since I bought mine a little over a year ago. At that time I paid about $250 each and Goodyear wanted over $300 at the store. Tom
I have found that the bowl won't hold water on ours if we don't let the pedal snap up when flushing. I flush and hold it down so that extra water goes down for a while and then slip my foot off of the pedal and let it snap up. I can see that it doesn't close completely towards the back of the...
Thanks! I will try to to keep an eye on it to see if I can figure out if the first tank goes empty. I weighed it last week and we had over a gallon left then. I could put a in line gauge on that I have but it usually just shows that there is gas or that it is empty. The amount in between doesn't...
This has probably been discussed before but I was wondering if we would run out of lp in the middle of the night if both bottles are cranked open and one is near empty. Are the type of valves we have automatic changeover or does it have to be flipped when the first tank is empty? My valve is...
Do you have to take the weight off of both axles to get grease in the middle ones? I am having as much trouble getting grease in the bolts in the middle equalizer as in the end ones. Some of mine took grease very easily and some didn't.
I think the rocket went south first and then went east before it flamed out. It made it look like it had stopped moving. We are in the Space Coast area at Rockledge. My sister down at Ft. Pierce said that my niece called her and said that the solar flare story was all over tv up north. My sister...
We watched the rocket go up through the palm trees across the road from the front of the bighorn the night before. Then last night we watched the solar flare lights dance around on the clouds. The lights we could see where we are seemed to be rotating in a clockwise motion generally but there...
I have noticed a lot of slack in the entrance door even after it is locked from the inside. The other night I could see outside light, near where the handle was, after I locked the door. I pulled on the handle and it made a sound like it latched. This doesn't give me a lot of confidence in this...
Thanks for the tip on the drier cycle Bill. I had never heard of doing this. The only problem I have had with the half time oven was my fault for under powering it. Too many things trying to use the same 30 amps. I found out that it works better if I shut most everything else off when I use the...
I bought a 30 amp box at a home improvement store and the heavy wiring needed to run to the breaker box inside the house. I made this a dedicated circuit and used a 30 amp breaker for it. I bought a 30 amp cord that has the 50 amp Marinco male that plugs into the 5er. I use 30 amp TRC Surge...
We tried the one that Target had on sale about a year ago. It made wet Ice and when you bagged the ice and stuck it in the freezer it would freeze together. Others have said they didn't have this problem with the other brands so I just thought I would let you know. Some might not freeze as cold...
We are expecting six days around 80* in Florida but the next day is supposed to be down to 76*. Got an email from our daughter after we were here about a week and she joked about us abandoning them in the frozen tundra up in Illinois and said they had 6" of snow flurries since we left. I see...
After hearing the guys at the first rally we attended, in 09, talk about somebody dropping their 5er out of the hitch I bought and installed the Blue Ox bed saver on mine. It requires an extra step when hitching because you have to raise the pin over it and back down to get the pin in position...
We bought a bunch of the Scotts and found it to be a little weak for the way I use paper. My wife is making me use up the Scotts but I sneak in the Angel Soft when she isn't looking. It is a little stronger and I use a lot less of it than a whole lot of Scotts folded over and over. Just seems...
Hi. We are thinking about a front storage surround to keep our bicycles out of sight and out of the weather. Anybody got any ideas on the best quality one to buy or build? I am thinking already that if I install snaps I would screw them in behind the front cap because I'm not too eager to drill...
Thanks! I have noticed that they are easier to turn after activating the switch one way or the other. Must have something to do with pressure in the system. I marked my switch so I know which is in and which is out now without running the pump to find out. Sure is handy to be able to run one...
I got he 4 G614s and the spare from my mechanic for around $1200 he does business with the tire truck out of his garage. They will have to install the high pressure valve stems with these tires because they hold 110 PSI. One of the first things I had done was the wetbolts and I had MorRyde do...
I believe it was easiest to slip the wires through the rubber ring before plugging them into the back of the light. Then you reinstall the rubber ring and light. Tom
Hi. I had to run one slide out by it self today. When I turned the finger knobs to close the other two they were very hard to turn both in and out. Does anybody know if it is okay to lubricate the threads on these and with what. I didn't want to mess up something that is so handy when I need...
I have the 18K Reese and the jaw will close on mine before I am backed all of the way in so I have to watch that the handle stays out or stop and pull it out again-- opening the jaw, before I finish hooking up. Like Bill said if I bump it wrong it will close prior to the pin seating properly...
Please disregard the former post because all of this was answered in a thread started earlier today about having problems with return air. I guess I should stay up to date on what is posted before asking questions. Thanks Tom
I cut out the area behind the louvered panel under the fridge and hinged the panel and it makes a great storage area for cartons of cola and bottled water. I know others have done this as well. Was this space designed as a cold air return for the furnace or something? Somebody on another forum...
I noticed from your earlier posts in 07 that you had a 3370L. What model is your 09? We have a 09 3370 and have had some of the same problems. I added more sink clamps when we started getting water in the pots and pans below the sink and found the sink sagging. I have done the drain leaks and...
