Maybe we can get an admin or moderator watching these threads to get Heartland to forward an image of the referenced Dometic flange or seal for the AC so we may all check our factory installations???? Maybe??
Has anyone replaced their water pump with one that is not so.....loud? The noise of the pump will certainly get your attention. I accessed the pump and I think the proximity of the lines to the walls (most were touching) adds a lot of noise and vibrations. I managed to insert some foam...
Hey Jm, I bought an ADCO for my 185, but I just purchased the standard 20' version which fit the MPG "sufficiently" for me. However; I have been disappointed in it as it began to separate at the seams and tear at the zippers after the first year. It keeps it clean and cool, but my next...
Hey there,
We have a 185 as well and the fresh water tank is underneath the body right behind the axles towards the rear. It is the and white plastic tank visible from underneath. It is in line with the fresh water fill up valve on the side. ENJOY THE CAMPING!!
We have the 16' Dometic Dome Awning that we purchased thru the dealer when we bought our trailer......yes, it fits our MPG185...sort of! Unless they have changed the specs on it then it will not give you that "made for" custom fit. It slides thru the channel and gives you a nice option for an...
We have wrestled with the same issue. We have been storing them in the TV to get them out of the way. Ultimately we have just decided to leave them at home. Pillows, blankets, etc are sufficient for us as a fill in when in the seating arrangement. The corner cushions only perform that one...
We have had our 185 for 1-1/2 years.....lots of trips....every trip yields a new idea for a refinement here alteration there, but we LOVE IT! Pull it with a GMC Denali Crew Cab.
We have the MPG 185 as well and have made it thru 2 seasons without any issues with the furnace and converter....and our bed remains in place most of the time.
Just returned from a week of camping and I have a concern. We were driving in the mountains with some very crooked roads.....while traveling, twice I noticed the slide had moved out 3-4" during the driving of the curvy mountain roads. Is this normal? Is it a concern? Is there a way to "lock"...
Have a 185 as well...and yes the stereo location is awful. I am very much interested in relocating the stereo. I was thinking about replacing the small cabinet with my own cabinet, one maybe about 3" deeper where I could mount the stereo on the side of the cabinet....where it will face out and...
MCreech from Heartland posted the following on a different thread:
Heartland has shut down production of the MPG for now, that doesnt mean we wont start it up again and it doesnt mean we are not going to support the retail customers that have purchased an MPG.... Heartland will contiune to...
I did consider cupboards, but felt as though they may "close in" the space too much. I am in the process of building an open shelf in the back. It will run from the pantry to the window. It will allow for some storage underneath and also additional shelf storage. It will allow our toaster...
Hi Tennbrad,
I have 2 batteries on my 185 and, being conservative, we were fine for 3 days in the Smokies National Park. I agree with Marc515...we have used our shower plenty and just a quick drying and the cabinet is fine. We love our dome room....you just have to make it work, but the extra...
We mainly use our tow vehicle for the mass clothes storage and then have tote containers that fit neatly on the shelf behind our couch (185) for a few days worth of clothes....this has worked well for us.
Once you receive it and set it up you will see that you have to make a few adjustments to make it fit the MPG. If you have the large one like we do, you will need to find a way to secure the outside edges to the MPG. WE use bungy chords to wrap it around the sides. Also, the bottom screen...
You will find there are two different sized screen rooms shown on these posts. The one I have does not stay on during travel. The other screen room rolls up and is stored in a bag that remains in the track. Once you are familiar with the installation it will take about 10 minutes to setup...
Hey MARC515, we have the 185 and I mounted the TV with the swivel mount. I attached the mount to the studs of the bathroom corner wall. It can be viewed from the rear of the trailer or swivel around and be seen from the kitchen area. It has worked out well so far.
We live in bug country and the awning has served us well. We made the package deal with the dealer at purchase of the trailer. It's sort of a "best fit" item as it was not specifcially designed for the MPG. You need to make some modifications to it to keep it bug free but I won't leave home...
We have the dome and have used it several times.....a few thoughts:
1. It was not made for the body of the MPG so consequently it "fits" sort of....There will be gaps on each end as the curvature of the MPG makes a good fit difficult. I use shock chords to pull it as tight as possible around...
I have a 185 and we bought some light weight aluminum stack jacks ($25 for 2) and they work great. Just set them up on the frame just under the front of the MPG and the stability issue is resolved......
LeslieLB....
I did find the "wing" type awning I was talking about offered by http://www.southdownsmotorcaravans.co.uk/tab/tab_suncanopy.php. They are a UK company, but that is as far as I have gotten. I may try and contact Dometic directly and ask them about it. I guess DOMETIC supplies...
To date I have no additional information. I was really hoping that this "ask the factory" forum would spur some assistance from the factory reps....but so far nothing.
Well, the nice thing about using this table is I use one and the wife uses the other one. And that is quite handy if someone needs to get up because room is at a premium. Kinda has a TV tray feel to it, but at least I can get up without disturbing her.
We do the same thing. Although I found handling the table that came with the 185 just a bit too cumbersome so now I use 2 pieces of 3/4" plywood as the bed set-up and they store neatly under the cushions when not in use. Much easier to deal with. I also found a Coleman camping table...
