    Mpg 185 Screen Tent

Well, it does tow nicely. My TV is a 2006 GMC Denali and it has no problems. When I bought the MPG I went ahead and got the weight distribution and sway bar setup for future use if we upgraded. Did a 1900 mile trip last October and it was great! Didn't have a lot of TT experience but after...

    Mpg 185 Screen Tent

Hey Bob, We love it!! Took a few trips to get all of the do's and dont's resolved, but we have really enjoyed the MPG. I would just recommend spending some time in all of the different models. Took us a little while to select the 185 but that seemed to fit our needs best. The dome tent...

    New here

Hello there and congrats.... There have been a few errors in the brochure. I am guessing they are referencing the free standing tables that come with some models. We have the 185 and it has a free standing table that we can setup outside. Hope that helps.... Enjoy the MPG!!

    The Dome Setup

I would love to see those pictures as well. A simple awning option would be nice.

    The Dome Setup

    1. I had an adjustable pole from other camping stuff and just use it in the middle of the main entrance (front). I made a little "cup" on the end that grabs the shock chord rod (the one that forms the dome in the front) and it secures itself with the downward pressure of the dome. You can get...

    The Dome Setup

We have the dome and have used it several times.....a few thoughts: 1. It was not made for the body of the MPG so consequently it "fits" sort of....There will be gaps on each end as the curvature of the MPG makes a good fit difficult. I use shock chords to pull it as tight as possible around...

On the verge of buying an MPG

Hey, we are/were in the same thought process. We have done tons of backpacking and will still do it, but the MPG has offered us a nice change indeed. Just opens up some other options and small enough to still "get away" from the crowds!! Good luck!

    Tire lug nuts

As a MPG owner I can relate.....I ground one down to fit, but there was not much meat left. These rims have lug holes that are TIGHT! I finally found a 13/16" spark plug wrench that worked perfectly with no alterations. HOME DEPOT.

    Jacks, sway control

Nice.........I think my wife may have that on her wish list now... since she wanted to handle the set-up last time.. :)

    Slide or Not to Slide

We have the model 185 and would not have even looked at the MPG's if there was no slide. It is just amazing how it opens up the space. I think these slides make a more dramatic impact on the smaller trailers. Slide or not to slide? I choose to slide.

    Cracks in the shower...

Thanks Dave..........I like the sound of "brought in a professional repair service".....I think I will mention that to the dealer.

    Cracks in the shower...

The MPG 185 has been on two big trips and I have noticed there are cracks in the shower unit right where the halfwall turns to form the sink. Dealer lists it as a warranty item and the "fix" is not too appealing. They want to make an in-place repair. Seems to me that matching everything back...

    Any Water Leaks?

Hello......... Yes, I had a leak in the rear window on the first good rain event. I have the 185. Used a little clear caulking and problem solved. No othere leaks noticed to date.

    11 days on the road........

Thanks everyone....We stayed mostly outside ourselves. Of course the weather was a big factor in that...highs in the low 70's and lows in the high 30's.....just perfect. All the cooking done outside on the portable grill or my trusty two burner coleman stove. I was impressed at how little...

    MPG Shower

HAHA....caterpillar demise, a youtube moment. We have had the same volume problems. Even just sitting on the bed....5 feet away the TV cannot overcome the A/C. Maybe some sort of wireless speaker setup will do it...on to the research!

    Design changes

I agree with all of these suggestions. I would like to add that for the 185 it would be better for if the two electrical outlets mounted under the sink were moved. They would be much more user friendly to be located one on the side of the pantry (useable for the left countertop) and one...

    General Awning Question....

I camped next to a T@B, recently and was looking over the "flying wing" type awning they had set up. It appears to use the same tract method of attachment to the camper. Also, appears to have the same support rods. Anyone know if it will fit the MPG? Seems like it would be a nice option just...

    11 days on the road........

Just finished my very first LONG trip. 1,943 miles, 2 National Parks, 1 KY state park, 1 TN state Park and 1 GA state park. TV is a 2006 GMC Denaili Crew Cab and went from 15.4 mpg to 11.3 mpg....hate to get that gas card statement, but it was worth it!..Great weather and good times. Now I have...

So, Where Do You Put Your Clothes in an MPG?

We have the 185 and we have found tote containers that fit neatly upon the shelf behind the love seat. We have a his and hers and they contain most of what is needed. Like others we store additional items in the TV.

    MPG Shower

We just completed an eleven day 1943 mile trip and used the MPG shower every day. It was not too bad. A little cramped so I would just leave the door open giving the shower curtain and me a little more room. Just the two of us so it worked out very well. A quick wipe down and you were done...

    Electrical outlets in the 185

Seems like an electrical outlet should be located at/or near the front of the cabin behind the stove/sink area. The two provided GFI outlets are directly in front of the sink and become a nuiscance if you have something pugged in and sitting on the countertop area.

    Air Con Heat Strip

My 185 is in the shop right now getting the heat strip and a battery cut-off switch. They are also looking at some "spidering" cracks in the shower/toiler unit just to the right of the sink.....not sure what to make of that just yet. Just curious, but what was wrong with the molding? Are you...

    Mpg 185 Screen Tent

I didnt like the option of placing holes in my new investment so I used several bungee chords to wrap the screen around the body and attach to the rear bumper and the front hitch. May not be the prettiest setup, but no holes! I also use some heavy duty magnets to attach the bottom skirt to the...

    Air Con Heat Strip

We generally don't require a lot of heat so the strip sounds perfect. We were camping a couple of weeks ago in the high 90's near 100% hum and the A/C worked great. It did have a lot of condensation on the inside and some dripping on the floor. It also seemed to freeze up at one point during...

    Air Con Heat Strip

Thanks for that info.....I am likely heading in that same direction. The thought of the furnace heater blowing right onto the bottom of the bed platform had me a little nervous. The heat strip sounds like a good idea. Have you had any issues with the condensation dripping on the inside from...

    MPG Shower

Been wondering about that shower area myself. The dealer prep guy told us to make sure you wiped everything down really well after using..........Thought about improvising a shower curtain for the whole space but not sure if it would leave enough area to move. I guess we will see just how...

We just returned from a four day trip.....upper 90's and 96% humidity. The A/C worked well....agreed, it is a bit noisy but I will take it. As you say, the built-in thermostat is a bit tricky but we made it thru. One night I did wake up to the A/C making a different noise..sounded like it was...

    Switch on shower/sink

I have only had my MPG for a few weeks, so not a lot of shower time. I did go home and check out the operation of the switch. It seems difficult to get it to lock into place. Took a fair amount of "fidgeting" to find the happy zone, but once locked it worked fine. However, upon reading your...

    Mpg 186

Looks good! Happy Trails! Let the mods begin...... We just picked up the awning yesterday. Set it up and well, whie it was certainly not designed with the MPG in mind, it should serve the intended purpose. This will take some modifications to make it fit properly, but it should be...

    New Mpg 186

Congrats.....we still love ours. Can't wait to take a little more extended trip and see if we still do :)............The awning comes in this week and then the MPG will be complete.

    Listed in Standard Options.....

Our leak issue was more to do with an ill-fitting gasket.....a little window caulking and so far so good. The installation of the rear window has always seemed strange to me as it looks like the end sections of the window frame are compressed during installation. I can see where this could...

    Looked at new 186

Good luck on the decision.....we had a really great experience at the local dealership. They were very helpful and we were very comfortable. We are still outfitting the 185 and hope to make the maiden voyage in the next couple of weeks. I can relate to the heat...it has been miserable and we...

Yes a lack of proof reading indeed.......I will point that out to the dealer about it when I return the unit to fix the leak in the rear window....GREAT!

    Listed in Standard Options.....

Just picked up my MPG185 from the dealer. I have a question regarding the listed "standard Options" on the website and in the brochure. A 3 speed fantastic fan is listed but my unit only has a single speed on/off fan in the bathroom and just a crank vent in the coach....am I missing something?
