Landmark cracked fiberglass and structure problem

I have 60,000 towing miles on my unit. I have an air spring pin box to lesson the strain on the frame. I think that may be the main reason I have no cracks caused by frame flex. If Heartland warrents thier trailer while towing with a gooseneck, then I might believe they think the frame is robust...

Advice for a generator for Mallard M27 Travel Tralier

Honda and Yamaha are good generators, but there others like Champion that are much less expensive. High cost does not always mean better. Search Youtube for inverter generators and you will find that there are a lot of alternatives. Harbor Frieght sells inverter generators with a different brand...

    When to greese TT axles

Forget the easy lube and pack them the old fashion way anually. The easy lube is a bad joke and was origianally intended for boat trailers. The RV industry use them as a marketing tool and is not a tool intended for RVs.

    Traversing the Rocky Mountains

no problems going up or down long grades. Just take your time. I don't have an exhaust brake, but lower gears work fine. I keep the engine at 2000- 2500 rpm in a gear that is not lugging going up hill and generally the same gear going down long grades. The engine and tranny run mid range temp...

    What generator to buy?

Yamaha and Honda are good and expensive. However, the Champion line is worth a look and significantly less expensive. Champion has a good reputation and seems a durable as Honda and Yamaha. I have been using a Champion 3000 watt inverter for two years and have accumulated a lot hours with no...

    Tire pressure monitoring system

The "constantly circulating" part is theory and needs to be proven by the author. The best proof would be to compare both types of monitors at the same time in the same conditions. That circulating air sounds good but I could argue that it is speculation and does not take into accounts eddy...

    Tire pressure monitoring system

My data comes from my Valor in-tire sensor that is measuring accurately and rapidly temperature inside of the tire on my rig with 7000lb axles. Also Valor claims that 50 degree increase is normal for my rig. Also Trailer Life magazine also had an article a while back sustantiating that in-tire...

    Tire pressure monitoring system

You have the right idea :-) BTY It is measuring a combination of outside and tire temp which is weighted to mostly outside temp, but it is not a true measurement of tire temp. However, it is normal for inside tire temp to reach approx. 50 degrees above ambient while traveling 60mph which is a...

    Tire pressure monitoring system

Did not mean to start an argument, I was simply providing an technical point about the difference between TPMS monitors for folks to consider. For example Ford offers in tire monitors with a obscure warning that they are not to be used with steel belted tires which is important to know before...

    Tire pressure monitoring system

hmm, the TST is a good product for tire pressure, but I don't see how it can accurately provide tire temperature. Can someone provide comparison data of tire temp using an IR temp sensor as compared to the TST reading. I suspect the TST is reading outside ambient temperature more so than tire...

    Tire pressure monitoring system

The best tire monitor for temperature and pressure are ones that are mounted inside the tire. Valve stem types do not give an accurate representation of tire temperature. Inside tire monitors signals are mitigated with all steel belted tires because the signal is attenuated more that non-steel...

Loose Wire in Breaker Panel - Fireplace Electric Failure (Beware)

The electrical systems in most RV's is marginal at best. The wire sizeing, connections, hardware and routing barely meet RV electrical codes and are NOT well suited for mobile and efficency standards. To meet those standards in more meaningful way would cost more money and most RV's are...

    2017 Pioneer BH270 Surprises

I am touring various RV Mfg's factorys to determine my next purchase based on how well the trailer is engineered and manufactured. Unfortunately, very few mfg's sell directly from the factory, so one is forced to buy thru a dealer. In either event, a PDI is extremely important, because it is...

    Genesis 2.0 Problem

    FWIW....new Fords

Ford made a great marketing decision when they went "in-house" with the diesel engine and transmission. That way they can adapt to market conditions much faster. The aluminum body allowed Ford to beef up the frame and suspension components as well. In fact it appears as though the new F350SRW...

Some one mentioned that the ratio is 50:1 diesel to DEF consumption. That may be correct although no link to verify. What's your favorite carry weapon?

The judge is less expensive and is not as finely manufactured as the Governor and I don't think is matters if it is holds one less round. The nice thing about either the Judge of Governor is they are both very lethal and the collateral damage is less severe.

Do you keep your batteries hooked up?

Always keep the batteries charged and watered properly. Wet cell batteries don't last long if under and over-charged and will die quickly if the plates are exposed to air. Also their life is greatly reduced if discharged more than 50% for deep cycle batteries and 80% for starting batteries. It...
