Re: New Auxiliary FuelTank idea
Nice looking tank. I have never used the trucks spare tire, But as soon as I replace my spare with a fuel tank I'll need the tire. LOL
Just my crazy luck.
I have also modified my basement door for easier winterizing. But it's not much easier, still hard to see all the knobs that need to be turned. I REALLY like the sliding door. I see a new mod in my future. Thank for sharing.
I have 4 6 volt batteries, works great if you have the room. We run a 120 volt fan for 8 to 12 hrs, 4 hrs of TV and still have enough battery to heat a cup of coffee in the microwave.
PS. the microwave and the coffee maker really like the generator.
JohnDar, I like the looks of that lock. I keep my storage doors lock so things don't fall out.
I do like the idea of one key for the door and storage locks.
Well the tires on my 71 Jaguar XKE V12 are rated at 150+ but I've never driven it that fast but it's nice to know that I shouldn't have to worry about heat build up at the speeds I do drive it.
If I had a Jaguar XKE V12 I'd drive at 150 mph every chance I could. With-out the trailer, of...
Re: Weight my Trailer last week.
My tire failed in less than 500 miles. If the ST tire is that fragile, can only be operated under 65 mph, maybe I should change to LT"s.
I really think I'm just having some super tire BAD LUCK. Or bad karma from a pass life. LOL
Re: Weight my Trailer last week.
I did have an alignment problem which was fixed early last spring.
I put the cruise on 68 mph and have run up to 75 mph for short distances.
Re: Weight my Trailer last week.
Changed to a E rated Tow max tire, with 80 psi. I now have 2 Marathon and 3 Tow max tires. Neither of which has the best reputation.
So I finely got around to weighting my truck and trailer fully loaded. And man was I surprised. I would have bet dollars to donuts that I was close if not a little over weight. Which would explain why I keep blowing tires. I was dragging my feet afraid of what I would find.
But total...
I got a digital signal meter from Camping World. Hooked it up to the bedroom TV. I can turn the antenna to the strongest digital signal. Stops the back and forth trips to turn the antenna. I'm looking at adding the Jack head next.
I was driving a Tahoe pulling a 24 ft trailer. The duramax up-grade was made 60 days after my down hill driving mistake.
I know what a parking is for, But desperate times call for desperate measures.
I do use the Tow mode when towing with the truck, it was not an option on my 99 Tahoe.
As...
I have a 3000 watt. Love it and the wireless remote starter. I don't have to leave the 5th wheel to start or stop the generator. I don't think the 2000 watt generators have a remote starter option.
I over heated my brake driving through Yosemite National Park. It's a scary feeling when you are headed down hill, hit the brakes and nothing happens. I know that it was my fault, I was on and off the brakes all the way through the park. I did keep my wits about me on the now steep decline...
Synthetic oil cost more, but I change oil and filter the once a year in the spring, 6 mths later I change the filter and add a quart. Saves me time and money. I drive about 20,000 miles a year. I us the Amsoil 25,000 mile synthetic.
2. Put another clearance light in the stair well that is also activated by the switch inside. That way, there is also light on the stairs.
This is a fabulous idea. Looks like I have found my next little project. Thanks.
For my last 5th wheel I pick up a wall bracket from Costco and installed it. Worked great.
In the new 5th wheel the T.V is bolted to the cabinet. Been that way for over a year, no problems.
I when out and purchased the largest T.V. I could fit in the desired location, that the wife would approve, 42 inch. She said the 60 inch would cover-up too much of the back window.
