tfires, I have E rated tires with 80 psi. I look at the tires before each trip, at each stop along my route and I drive at 65. I believe I'm doing everything I can to ensure a safe tire problem free trip. Here is a pic from my last outing, $1000.00 in damage, tire had less than 600 miles...
I have my 3000 on the back of my 5th wheel. Also had it their for years with no problems.
I did remove the wheels and attach it to my bumper. If some one really wants it they'll have to carry it off.
I have one occasion put the black tank treatment into the gray tank. It does seem to help with un-defined odors, is it a gray tank odor, is it a black tank odor.
Also agree with cleaning the tanks out real good every month or two.
I have also pulled the brake cable backing in to put my TT away. Had no idea why the wheels wouldn't turn. Truck still pushed the trailer back into parking space. After that trick it was time for new tires.
I'm having what I believe is the same problem. Happened again last weekend, mine will sometimes "fix it's self" after about 1/4 of a mile or I need to re-starting the truck. My research indicates it maybe a "MAP" sensor problem. Going to replace that sometime next week.
I had a similar sound coming from my AC. My problem was power shortage. I was trying to draw more power than I had available from my 3000 watt generator. Are you hooked up to shore power or running off a generator?
My weekend experience with TowMax tires. These tires are less than a year old with about 2000 miles. They are 225/75/R15 E rated with 80 psi. I replaced this tire with a Gladiator from Les Swab. Hoping for better luck.
I think the slider is just a special hitch. You can pull any other 5th wheel, and someone else can pull your without any special equipment. So no specific pin or hitch. My neighbor has one for his ford pick-up with a 5 1/2 ft bed. If you get a slider make sure that it articulate both side to...
That's what I do. The trailer seems to cool much fast with the slide in. When I get to where I'm going I can open the slide and it's nice and cool inside.
Everybody looks at the cost of a good generator, (Honda or Yamaha) and thinks they are WAY to much. Especially when compared to the big box sh"t generators. They look at noise levels and decide they can live with all the noise. After all, the POS generators are only as loud a vacuum cleaner...
My inverter will run my Rv fridge. But, It draws a ton of battery power. I forgot to switch my fridge over to gas before heading out this last weekend and it took my battery bank down to 50% in 3 hrs.
I have been noticing the chucking more and more. It would also be nice to have a level truck when hitched to North Trail. Looks like a set of Air Bags would fix both problems.
We have had its happen to us. Didn't flood anything, But, no fresh water which made the weekend very difficult. Now we turn off the water pump when we leave the trailer.
The manual I got with my New 5th wheel was a joke. It is so general that it has NO useful information at all. I could understand a generic owners manual produced in the 70's. But with the advent of Kinko's and personal computers their is no reason to not supply a RV specific user manual...
Nope, I'm using the Black Tank Flusher installed stock on the 5th wheel. Next time out, I'll dump, fill 1/2 full of soapy water. Than let it slosh around for the 250 miles trip home.
I too am anode at pushy, under trained, arm twisting, poor mannered, and the list goes on, people in sales. But, they are easy to spot and even easier to avoid.
I have walked away from more than one person in sales, many while they where still talking.
OUCH, that really hurts guys. I'm a "Salesman" I know the products I sell inside and out.
I'm also aware of my competition.
I believe you are confusing a salesman with someone in sales. To totally different people.
One is their to educate his prospect, the other to collect a commission...
I was reading on the form and it sounds like I may have some bad Axles on the 5th wheel. I did have them re-aligned and replace 3 out of four tire due to excessive wear.
I know that 20 amps will do the job, But 40 amps would be MUCH better.
I only need to drop the charging amps when I'm running the AC.
I did see a 4500 watt Yamaha Generator which would solve my power shortage problems.
And create a hole new set of problems.
I read over every piece of inverter information I could find online. Looks at different load charts. Tried to determine what I would like to do with the inverter. Watch some TV or Movies for 2 to 4 hrs, run a fan for 10 to 12 hrs, and heat up a cup of coffee with the microwave. Than I guessed...
So, I have installed a 1800 watt Xantrex inverter with 4, 6 volt batteries.
I use this to watch Television in the evening, run a white noise/fan at night and heat up coffee in the microwave without the generator.
I put the batteries in a trunk I bought at Wal-Mart. Installed a vent hose and...
