    cyclone 4006 satellite prewire

On our Cyclone 4005, the wires were pretty much right where Heartland said they were. I measured the TV antenna distance from the side and the front, and then marked those distances on the opposite side and drilled there. Took a bit to fish out the wires, but they were there. On a related...

    4006 shades falling down

None have actually fallen down in our 4005. But one of the larger shades was looking strange, and when I checked the end bracket was dangling loose. The other two brackets only have one screw in each, although there are two screw holes in each bracket. So obviously they weren't mounted very...

    Lock replacement on exterior storage

Yep, another vote for RVLocks. We replaced all our locks, entry doors and compartments, and now everything is keyed alike with only 1 key for the whole rig!

Replacement Pull Out Steps for M21

The folks at etrailer.com have also been very helpful in finding parts. If you call them with the model of your trailer, they may be able to help. They have a lot of steps on their website. I purchased our Torklift Glowsteps from them.

We purchased a simple curtain rod and brown drapes at Lowes for our Cyclone. Works great for privacy when needed.

Comments on Cyclone 4007 and F350 Dually

Congratulations! We have a F350 dually pulling a Cyclone 4005, and love it. The F350 has no problem pulling the heavy rig. We did install air lifts on the rear of the F350 for a more level ride, we use the Andersen Ultimate hitch, and have a Trail Air pin box.

    Kitchen faucet leak

Your faucet looks like the original one we had in our 2018 Cyclone. It also started leaking in that same place. Same as the previous post, we just replaced the entire fixture with a new one from Home Depot. We were on a trip at the time and didn't want to mess with it. Now it's a name brand...

    No Hot water

Open the exterior cover and it should be right on the front of the water heater. Ours was on the upper right, just to the right of the pressure relief valve.

    No Hot water

We had a similar problem in our Cyclone, only the opposite of what you're experiencing. Ours would work on electric, but not propane. Turned out to be a bad control board. A new one wasn't expensive and incredibly easy to install. Both electric and propane on the water heater have been...

    Hitch advice-BH3650

To throw in one more option, our Cyclone has the Trail Air pin box and we use an Andersen Ultimate hitch. Our F350 has the 8 foot bed. The Trail Air seems to work pretty well to help smooth the ride, and the Andersen hitch is incredibly light and easy to move. Hitching up the rig is a breeze...

    Ford dually aluminum rim leaking

Our 2017 F350 has unfortunately had this problem in both outer rear wheels. Ford fixed the slow leak in the right rear by apparently resetting the valve stem and putting some sealer around it. I'm not sure exactly what they did, but it worked. The left rear is another story. We've taken it...

Central Valley California to Orlando Florida 12/21

Three years ago we took our Cyclone from Tulsa, Oklahoma to southern California to spend Christmas with family (I grew up in the Los Angeles area). We kept a close eye on the weather travelling I-40 west until Flagstaff, then cut down to I-10 for the rest of the way to southern California. We...

    Odd possible AC issue?

Not sure if this is your problem or not, but we were having issues with our Cyclone's living room AC cycling off the compressor and not restarting. If I shut down the thermostat and restarted the system, it would then work normally. Our Mobile RV Tech finally diagnosed a bad relay in the AC's...

    Taking the Independent Suspension Plunge!

After doing a lot of research on this forum and elsewhere, we decided to take the plunge and have made an appointment with Morryde to get the independent suspension and disk brakes installed on our Cyclone. I'm glad I called when I did because they are already out to mid-May on scheduling! Now...

    Messed up satellite cabling

I'm afraid we are the latest victim of Heartland's messed up coax wiring jobs! We finally purchased satellite equipment for our Cyclone 4005, using DISH network equipment. While hooking up the satellite dish through the UDC for the first time, I could not get a signal to the main living room...

    A/C randomly shuts off

We had a similar problem with one of our A/C units shutting down randomly and not restarting. I would shut the system down at the thermostat, let it sit for for a few minutes, then it would start again. Our mobile RV repair guy finally traced the problem to a bad relay in the A/C's control...

    Security for pets

Since we sometimes leave our dogs in the RV for a while, we use the RV Whisper monitoring system. You need a wifi hotspot for it to work, but it comes with multiple temperature sensors to track indoor air temperature, refrigerator temperature, freezer temperature and outside temperature if you...

Did I max out my hitch?

I find the Andersen easier to line up than our old traditional style hitch. You get it reasonably close, and the cup part of the Andersen slides right down over the hitch ball. We have a Trail Air air ride pin box on our Cyclone, and the two work very well together.

Did I max out my hitch?

We've been using the Andersen Ultimate hitch with our Cyclone, and love it. It's rated to 24,000 pounds so plenty of capacity. It's also very easy to hook up, and the lighter weight of the hitch itself makes it a breeze to take in and out of the truck bed.

    dishes

We also just stack our plates, bowls and coffee cups in the overhead cabinets. But we also place a paper towel in between each one just for a little extra protection. Glassware, like already mentioned, gets wrapped in small towels. Never had any problems with breakage.

Ac comes on when furn is selected

Also make sure you have the fan set to Auto. If you have the fan set on High or Low, the fan for the AC will run while the furnace runs (but the compressor will be off). Set the fan to Auto and you will only get the furnace blower.

rookie with a few fuel station problems

I've always used SeaFoam fuel treatment in our Cyclone. It was recommended to me early on and it has always worked great on keeping the fuel fresh and the generator carburetor clean. On the fuel gauge, it may be that the wiring is reversed. Ours was, and I had to press the switch for the...

    Thermostat on A/C went dark

The rear A/C thermostat in our Cyclone went dead a while back. Turned out to be exactly what Dan suggested, a loose wire connection up in the A/C unit. Redid the connection and the thermostat came back on and no problems since.

    Ducted air in TH

The Dometic AC's in our Cyclone are ducted, and also have the quick cool feature which you can keep closed to force all the air through the ducts, or open for that down blast of cold air. We usually keep ours closed to route the air through the ducts as I like the broader air distribution, and...

Living room ac stops starts right back up

What you pulled from the manual is exactly what I was describing and our RV tech explained. We always run our AC's with the fan set to Auto, and the speed varies high or low to match the cooling need. We don't like the fan continuously running, especially at night when the cooling need is less...

    Roof Tear, PLEASE HELP!!

All of the advice I've ever read strongly recommends Eternabond tape for roof and seam repairs. Mobile RV repair guy we use swears by it. Gorilla glue would probably work to glue the roof membrane down, but then use the Eternabond tape over the seam. It's readily available on Amazon, or any...

    New Mallard Owners

Welcome to the Heartland family! Enjoy the new rig! One of our favorite spots for a quick break here in Oklahoma is Sequoyah State Park on Fort Gibson Lake. They have some great RV sites, some with full hookups, and the park is huge. We can heartily recommend it.

Living room ac stops starts right back up

Our AC does that when the fan is switching from high to low speed, or low to high. When our Mobile RV repair guy was servicing our unit he said that's perfectly normal if you have the fan set on Auto.

    Furrion Camera

Re: Furrow Camera Unfortunately don't have any magic for you. But one time shortly after I installed the Furrion Vision S system we started out on a trip and I lost the signal from the rear camera and it wouldn't come back on. I pulled the power on the monitor in the truck to reboot it, but...

    Distance for Furrion Cameras

I notice when I am wearing sunglasses that the display is harder to see. But if I'm not wearing sunglasses it looks pretty decent on ours. Not the brightest I've ever seen though. My impression is Furrion needs to work on the firmware to allow additional brightness on the display.

    Removing and Replacing Exterior Steps

The Torklift steps are what I put on our Cyclone. Excellent upgrade, and I don't think you would regret putting them on. Easy to use and very stable. I added the 5th step too as others have done, which makes for a shorter step up on the first step. The dogs really like them too!

    Broken Spring Hanger

After reading through this thread, I'm thinking an upgrade with the Morryde X-Factor Crossmembers would be a good idea for our Cyclone 4005. We have Correct Track, so have to be sure to get the correct model. The front axle will be no problem, but unfortunately at the rear axle I noticed we...

Low water pressure from Kitchen Sink

Every faucet is a bit different, but ours simply unscrewed from the end of the faucet. I've seen others that came with a tool to remove the aerator.

Low water pressure from Kitchen Sink

We had low pressure in our kitchen faucet too. I found the culprit was a flow restrictor disk in the aerator. It's there as a water saving feature but is overkill for the RV. You might check your faucet aerator and see if there is a flat disk with a small hole in the center. Taking that out...
