If you don’t lower and tighten one of the arms in the down position. The awning will automatically lower one arm and drain the water off and then raise itself again. But if I know it’s going to rain I do as Dan suggests.

Everything above are good suggestions. Make sure your toilet flush valve is shutting off completely. Air in line can cause problems. Make sure to bleed air out of your outside shower or hose connection. If you have a washer hookup you would have to bleed that line too, hot and cold.

Dan is right on the ohms. I don’t usually see 17 ohms but 14.5 is normal. Often see 12 plus ohms though. Elements are cheap though, not hard to replace.
