Just washed the new Sundance 2998RB Sunday to get the delivery slime off. Also, got to poke around inside a little, but the weather here isn't cooperating.
2 questions:
1. We ordered the free standing dinette. The table was screwed to the floor, I assume for shipping purposes. After...
Send me a PM with your email address and I can email a PDF copy of the 2010 sales brochure. I was looking over our unit a little more carefully and still can't believe all the things that are standard on a unit in this price range. Just wish the ice would melt and spring would arrive!!
We took delivery of a 2010 Sundance 2998RB today! It looks great and I still can't believe the features included for the price. We ordered from Lakeshore RV in MI. Process was easy and painless, especially when I found out how inexpensive it was to have it delivered right to our driveway. It's...
Anything worth doing is worth over-doing. It took me a long time to get away from the 3,000 miles rule. On my Duramax, I change oil and filter every 5,000 miles but do a filter change every 2,500. My theory is this should remove the soot captured in the filter. My oil analysis have always...
These new LCD tv's can be quite heavy. What is protocol when going down the road? Do tv's have to be removed from shelves and walls? Will most LCD tv mounts hold up to the abuses of American roads? Will the RV hold up the the weight of a TV hanging on it while traveling? I had never really...
I have just ordered a 2010 Sundance 2998RB! Problem is, I don't know what it will look like. My dealer indicated the exterior graphics have changed. He also mentioned that there were other changes. Can I get some specifice on the changes as well as a picture of the exterior graphics?
I just...
Ordered a 2010 2998RB last Thursday! Anxiously awaiting arrival in late January! Any tips on what doesn't come with a new camper that I will need? Hoses, filters, supressors, etc? Tips appreciated!
If you move around from site to site you will obviously want to keep some water on board. Do you run the heater while you travel? What do you do if you leave for home in cold temperatures to prevent freezing?
Guess it won't happen. I was so excited, Butch & Karen have Sundance listed on their website, but don't carry that line. Major bummer, I was really hoping to buy an RV from them.
Can it be done? We may order our Sundance in the next week. We were looking at RV for less in TN. If I recall correctly, Butch & Karen offer a night or two of free camping at a nearby campground. Is this bad in January? Are the units campable in these temperatures?
Thanks from the new guy!
Has anyone used a Hidden Hitch Signature Series fifth wheel? I found one on www.americanrvcompany.com. It has a nearly identical part number to the Reese unit and visually appears to be the same part. The big difference is price. On their site, the Hidden Hitch unit is listed for $557.76 and...
I have a tuned ECM from www.KennedyDiesel.com. I think he uses EFI live, but also have the advantage of an in house dyno to test his tunes. I have his economy and towing tune. Both are great. He also has bigger power tunes, but I doubt they would be particularly practical for towing heavy...
I too have Bilsteins from Kennedy Diesel. John Kennedy is first rate and his custom tuned ECM is fantastic. I had another power adder on the truck, but gave his tune a try. Night and day difference. Well worth it!
Thanks Katkens - that was just the info I was looking for. It sounds like your hitch is at its highest point from what I have read about the product. I'll probably shoot for about 17- 17.5 inches since your trailer is heavier than what we are planning.
I am purchasing a Sundance 2998RB and plan to use a Reese, Signature Series 18K hitch. My tow vehicle is a 2500HD Chev with short bed. How do I plan the hitch setup to minimize problems at pickup? At what height should the fifth wheel plate in the truck be? How many inches below the rails, or...
When going forward, is it even possible to get the trailer at more than 88 degrees to the truck? It would seem that when going forward it would be impossible to smash the trailer into the cab.
Can anyone confirm this?
Do slide awnings come standard on the Big Country models? If not, is it the double seals that theoretically reduce the need for the awnings? I am looking at a Big Country as my first camper, are the slide awnings really needed?
I think the price is crazy! Simply pulling the fuse from the panel inside the truck accomplishes the same thing. I have installed a switch in my overhead console with wires running to the fuse panel with an inline fuse to protect the truck circuitry. To date, I just haven't found a "pretty" way...
Thanks for the prompt feedback - information from the real world - not just the manufacturer.
Big thanks to Terry H for the link to the video - that is exactly what I was looking for!
So just how far forward of the rear axle can the pin be and maintain an 88 degree turn?
I really like the Heartland products, especially the Big Country 3490 RB and 3490 BHS. Everyone says a slider hitch is not needed. Prove it!!!! Post some pictures and videos so I could sleep better!!! I will be using a short bed GM truck to pull this trailer.
I'm just skeptical.
Thanks!!!
