I was in good shape on all concerns, except for the truck rear axle. I was approximately 600 pounds over on this axle.
Our weight on the trailer axles was approximately 1000 pounds under the maximum.
I seem to be transferring a lot of weight to the rear truck axle. I am still waiting for my...
Need to add my congratulations to Jim and all the volunteers for all the planning for a great rally!
We are settled back in again here in London Ontario and waiting for our next trip out in the Bighorn.
Met so many nice people and had so much fun in Goshen!

We have a 2008 3055 Bighorn and have just ordered a 2011 model of the same trailer. We have upgraded a lot of the automatic style options such as the cord reel, automatic awning, self leveling system and the ONAN generator. I was injured in a bad motor vehicle accident in February 2008 so we are...
Thanks for the answer...
Thank's Jim. Yes it is the 2008 drop frame and those are the measurements I was looking for, especially the one giving the depth.
Now I can start to fabricate a battery box in preparation to adding a bank of batteries and some solar panels.
With my trailer a 1/2 hour...
Leave home without them
I guess I will be as gentle as I can. Not sure why someone needs to travel the country in an RV enjoying nature and beauty.....and carry a weapon. I guess this practice is just foreign to us in Canada. I met someone at a Flying J near Buffalo last fall and he was very...
Ontario Chapter
We live near London Ontario, and would also be interested in a chapter with other Ontario Heartland Owners

2008 3055 Bighorn :)
With my 2008 Bighorn tucked away at indoor storage for the winter, I am wondering if someone could give me a measurement.
I am looking for the lower tray portion of the front compartment, specifically the front to back depth.
I want to start to fabricate a battery compartment to fit in the...
Bent Landing Leg
I too had this problem with my 2008 / 3055, when I picked it up. I had to use a rubber hammer to move the leg up and down in the housing, until I took it back to have the repair done.
The dealer first couriered me a new leg which I was able to put up into the housing only to...
Happy with 3055
We have a 2008 3055 which we are very happy with. Had the usual bugs at the start but between some work myself and at the dealer, we have put those behind us.
We have no experience with the michelin xps ribs you speak of, so we can't help you there.
We like the aluminum wheels...
Sailorand......wondering what your panels are on the roof. I was looking at two 110 watt panels, an inverter charge controller combo and 4 batteries. I know this will be $$ but I want to be able to operate a few items in the evening when dry camping. Do you have any experience with a BC company...
Thinking about a solar installation on my 2008 3055 Bighorn. I was asked if it was pre wired for solar panels. Anyone know the answer? I did not see it in any literature.
Has anyone put a system on a Bighorn? I am interested on tips, detailed instructions and what to avoid in the way of...

Queen Bed Headboard
We ordered the queen bed in our 2008 Bighorn and we like that setup for the reasons you folks state.
Be careful though....we were home a week after picking up the trailer, when we noticed that the headboard fastened to the wall was left in the king position.....off centre...
3055 Behind FL50 Freightliner
None We were southbound on 75 last Friday morning heading to Toledo to a Supermodified race.
We came home to Ontario by way of Hwy 69 and Port Huron on Sunday. We saw one Bighorn going away from Port Huron on Hwy 69.
Nice to see some others on the roads...
FL50 fREIGHTLINER
We are towing our new 2008 3055 with our 2000 FL50 Freightliner with a RV Hauler conversion. Lots of HP and Torque, and know it is overkill form the trailer .....but we go down the road very comfortable. I was buying and upgrading pickups every 2-3 years before I bought this 2...
Water tank questions
Hello....
Please see my post under general discussions titled shakedown trip. In there I describe my water tank issues and how I personally fixed them.....I hope. I can't take all the credit as others who have posted had a collection of the ideas.
Tank fixed ....I hope
Was under the trailer last night cutting open the underbelly and looking at a sagging water tank.
Took 5ver's advice and have added the following 39" lengths of steel tubing from I beam legs front and back of the tank.
One pc 1" x 2" tubing at the door end of the tank...
Frestar Tires
Just went outside and checked my 2008 Bighorn 3055 and it has the Freestars on it. They are still China Product.....but by what you are saying are they a better product? I can't say that I am a tire expert.
Thanks,
Some Tank results
Messing around this weekend and I cut a 6 foot length of rv hose off of an old one I had, using the female end. I had the interior partition panel off and I could see that the fill pipe to tank goes off to the right towards the axles. I was easily able to push 5 feet of this...
We just arrived home from our first weekend out in our new 3055. I guess we also have the fresh water tank problem. When filling at the park, water gushed out of the fill much earlier than I expected. I babied in a bit more water, then gave up. Guage showed 2/3 full. When I was at home and...
Hello Coley,
My wife and I were at the factory last fall and you were nice enough to give us a tour. Your may remember my Freightliner RV Hauler. Anyway we picked up our new 2008 3055 at Campkins RV near Toronto Ontario, on April 23rd.
This are looking quite good, but a couple of questions...
