    Toyo Tires

After having a blowout, my only immediate option was Charles Schwab. Although the shop in Mt Home ID was wiling to order Michelins, they recommended Toyo as the best they had in stock. Anyone have any experience with Toyo?

    Black tank cleaning

I'm just curious about an idea I had. Has anybody ever tried using a siphon bottle to inject soap up the black water flush fitting to clean the black water tank?it seems to me that it would work, but I'm reluctant to try it without consulting those more knowledgeable. Awaiting responses before i...

    Level Up maintenance while stored

I jut put the rig to bed for the next several months and it is the first storage period since I've had Level Up installed. Lippert instructions say to spray the struts with silicone every 7 days. Is that frequency necessary? I live in a dry climate so I may play it by ear. An advice?

    New Lippert levelers

I looked at the new Lippert catalog and pages 71-73 showed Lippert leveling systems that looked like BigFoot called the Black Jack- aftermarket version available in 2013. Also showed GroundControl system. What do you make of this? Did Lippert acquire Quadra?

    dual ac units

a friend has a SOB (Dutchman Infinity, a Thor product) and we have a question concerning dual AC. The unit is a front living room very similar to the new big horn. The 13500 Dometic AC is the forward air con unit and the 15000 Dometic is dedicated to the bed room. This seems backward to me...

    Attaching stuff to the walls

I just saw a clip on you tube, and a person demonstrated attaching things to an RV wall using Pop Rivets. Granted that there would certainly be weight limitations, but I tried it with a piece of melamine about the same thickness and composition as an RV wall and it seemed to work. Has anyone...

    AC Electrical voltage path

Is there any component or device, such as a voltage conditioner or analyzer between the power cord input and the main AC electrical circuit breaker panel? If so where is it located? It's a shame that Heartland does not provide a schematic or block diagram. Other than that, Bighorn is an...

    Dry Camping

I have had my Big Horn for about a year now and have been to several campgrounds - all with hookups. We have been invited to go dry camping. Never done it in a 5er, but I think I would need a second battery, an inverter, and a generator in order to be fairly civilized while in the boonies...

    Bighorn - Ceiling lights

When I first bought my 2011 Bighorn. last January, I was told by my salesman that all the recessed lights were LED for energy effriciency. When I had to replace a ceiling light last week, I discovered that it was a 20 W Halogen. Not as energy efficient as an LED. Just curious, were LED lights...

    ATF: Bighorn - Tech Data

Just a quick note, that I must preface by saying Heartland makes the best fifth wheels around, IMHO. I had a Sundance that I owned for only 4 months before trading up to a Bighorn 3610RE one year ago. Absolutely delighted with it. My one observation that pertains to both units - The Tech Data...

    Rear Bumper

My 2011 Bighorn 3610 RE came with no rear bumper. There appear to be provisions for mounting one at the rear end of the frame rails. I would have to locally fab the mounts myself. The question is, are there any negative ramifications to doing this mod that I may not have thought of? It would...

    Hot water bypass

When I go to winterize my rig, the hotwater bypass seems to allow antifreeze to go into the hot water heater. I think it is plumbed correctly, but i'm not entirely sure. maybe the valve itself has a problem. any suggestions?

    Bighorn - Cargo floor board

What is the floor of the cargo compartment made of in a 2011 Bighorn 3610RE? In otherwords, can you attach anything to it with screws or throughbolts? Thinking of cargo slides or maybe some brackets to improve backwall mounting.

    Lippert level up

I want to install the levelup on my 2011 Bighorn 3610 RE. I am very competent in installation of complex systems (I was a Field Engineer for Lockheed for 20+ years). Is the installation so complex and require special tools that would put it beyond my capability? I live in Northern Nevada and...
