When it comes to multipurpose, I love my smartphone. There are apps available to handle all the GPS requirements you mentioned.
Here's one that would track your rowing
I find Google to be a great navigation system. But if you are traveling in areas with no cell coverage, here's an app that...
This isn't a direct answer to your question. But perhaps using an adapter that allows you to use a cordless drill to run the scissor jacks up and down would be an improvement.
Here's a link to one on Amazon
Funny how our priorities change over the years isn't it?
Glenn and Tina...sounds like you will be battening the hatches later this week in OBX. Let's hope Arthur takes a sharp right turn...
Re: Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnell
I'm not sure whether this will help your decision or not...but fireman bill posted a video going through the bridge awhile back. :)
Here's the link to the post.
We're back from Campfire Lodgings and had a great time...what an incredible view! It's a great little campground with easy access back to downtown Asheville. I have to admit I wondered what you guys had gotten me into on the road up to the campground. I can't imagine what would happen if a...
Thanks all for your recommendations. Campfire Lodgings contacted and reservation set! Can't wait to get there...the website and descriptions sound just like what I was looking for.
Thanks again!
Have an unexpected chance to get away for a long weekend 6/19--6/22. I had hoped to stay at Mama Gertie's but its booked for the weekend.
Looking for campground recommendations in the Asheville area (Asheville, Black Mountain, Swannanoah, etc.). No kids so swimming pools and playgrounds...
You and Bill are on the right track. I've had no problems with the shower in my Landmark, but did have similar problems in a shower in my first sticks and brick house. The floor of the shower wasn't supported well and it flexed until it eventually cracked. The tub repair person I hired...
If you are tight on space, here's another idea. Refill your small propane tanks from your main tank instead of disposing of them.

I've refilled tanks for years for our Boy Scout Troop. The key is getting the small tank very cold before filling.
There's a fiver at my seasonal campground with full vinyl skirting that looks incredibly nice. He told me he had it done by an Amish company for $1500. That seemed quite reasonable given the amount of material involved. I can ask for more details later this week if you are interested.
My entry door has several cracks in the inside panel that look just like that. I'm considering using a sheet of laminate like would be used on countertops to cover the door.
I'll be watching this thread for other ideas...
I purchased a dyson stick for my Landmark Grand Canyon a little over a year ago. Works great in the camper...the head is the perfect size to get in all the small spaces in my floorplan. The battery will typically last just long enough to give the coach a good vacuum. It works as well on the...
I think there are two parts to that answer. One is connectivity. As Dane suggests, campground internet is rarely fast enough to support streaming video consistently. At all the campgrounds I've been to, watching streaming video on the campground wifi has been a fail. However, if you camp in...
Let me give you a comparison. It's a lot like Turkey Bacon. If you buy it expecting it to be like "real" bacon...you'll be sorely disappointed. If on the other hand, you buy Turkey Bacon, learn to cook it correctly, and understand it's really a very different breakfast meat...it's pretty good...
Re: EVENT: Heartland Virginia Chapter Rally: NC, Rodanthe - 5/1/2014 to 5/4/2014
The Bonner bridge has reopened. :)

I just recently learned that my Dodge had a high idle/3 cylinder warm-up mode. It's activated by engaging the exhaust brake, turning on the cruise control and hitting the set speed button. It engages a high idle that works with the exhaust brake putting a load on the engine and warms up very...
The "big rig" nozzle is larger; but your Ram has an inlet sized to accept it.
Even my diesel VW could accept the larger nozzle. Given it had a 12 gallon tank...fill ups were fast!
No. The classic Landmarks had hot and cold manifolds installed in the UDC. Hot and/or cold water could be shut off to any fixture in the coach by turning a valve on the manifold.
This picture isn't from a Landmark...but it's the same manifold used in mine.
I'll second your recommendation for Chromecast.
I bought one for our seasonal camper and decided we needed one at home too. I'm buying my adult son one for Christmas. Highly recommended if you use Netflix, Hulu, and/or Youtube.
I'm not sure about powering the router from a usb adapter. I use a small inverter to power my router from time to time with no problems. Not all routers are equal when it comes to transmission distance, but I would think most any wifi router would reach from the back of the coach to the front...
Al,
I had the exact same idea since I have a router installed in my coach already. however, when researching cameras I read that there was a significant lag to the video. Enough that I wouldn't have confidence using it when moving to judge distance. Have you seen any video delays?
Green Mountain just released what could be considered a portable unit called the Davy Crockett. It looks like an interesting choice that would provide a lot of cooking options in a fairly small package.
Does your pellet grill work well as a grill (i.e. searing steaks, cooking burgers, etc.)?
I think diesel emissions technology will closely follow our history with gas engines. The first attempts at reducing emissions in gas engines were clumsy, choked performance, and created expensive repairs to maintain the equipment. There once was a lot of interest in removing emissions control...
It's definitely harder than it used to be; but still possible.
Delete w/o a tuner using SIMS
delete pipe
If you do decide to delete...hang on to the hardware you remove. You may need it if your state begins emission testing and it's very expensive to replace!
Re: New owner of a barely used 2006 Bighorn 3400RL, things I should watch for during PDI to get fixed
Welcome to the "Classic Club"! After reading about the issues new owners go through...I'm happy with my pre-owned "classic". I know you'll enjoy it.
Where are you guys staying? I've tent camped at a couple of "temporary" campgrounds next to the track. Awesome fun but barely enough room for my tent and truck...no way I could get my Landmark in there.
I'd love to go back with my Landmark next year.
This is something I've been looking into as well. Here's an option for getting around the 24 volt power supply issue.

Rain on the roof is actually one of my favorite sounds. I don't have them, but I suspect slide covers would reduce the noise substantially. The trade-off would be some noise from the slide covers in heavy wind.
Unfortunately, I broke the handle off my Splendide 2100 this past week. So far the door has resisted all efforts at opening it back up to repair it. As one might expect, the clothes inside are apparently the family favorites that we can't live without :).
I love the washer/dryer combo...but...
where are you staying? I'll be coming through fredericksburg tomorrow to visit with my sister. Thought about staying in the KOA there, but decided to drive on to Cherry Hill Campground in College Park Saturday evening to give more time for site seeing on Sunday.
Did landmark production begin with 001? I have number 64...I've never seen anyone post an earlier production number.

The key is you can't purchase the device from Verizon with a subsidy. If you bring your own "acquired device" to Verizon, it can be activated as a replacement to your existing device without changing your contract or losing your unlimited data. I know it can be done because I've upgraded...
