Can't respond to the residential refrigerator but our full paint option is 18 months old on our San Antonio and is still in pristine condition. Even an occasional "grandson bicycle" scrape along the curb side slide has held up well.

Definitely a slider. Popped a window years ago when I did not have one. The turn radius of the Landmark helps, but the slider hitch gives me much more latitude and makes me more comfortable.

We had our stack W/D factory installed and the wife says she likes it better than the ones in the stick built house. Installation was precise, from lines, to pan, to exhaust vent. I'd definitely suggest the factory install.
