    Generator fine, but 12v issues

Just an update. After some troubleshooting, I found the culprit. Heartland, in their infinite engineering wisdom, decided to place the receptacle that the converter was plugged into, in the roof of the mechanical crawlspace. The plug was just hanging vertically, allowing gravity over the year...

    Generator fine, but 12v issues

Hello all, I am hoping this is a quick issue. 5500W Onan Genset running fine. It did stop and I received a 14 error code, "no fast enough" took it to Onan, they cannot recreate the issue. When the genny is running, it is running all of the 110v and the AC units, but it is not charging the...

    Wood Grained Contact Paper

Good to know. I would of course rather replace that crappy particle moulding with real wood and stain. If you make it out there, please let me know what the actual stain is, it would save me some time and chemistry.

Called them, no luck. The color is Delight Bordeaux Maple.

    Wood Grained Contact Paper

Hey everyone, we have over the last ten years in our '15 4100King, had a bit of water and pet damage to the wood (I use that word laughingly) that contacts the floor. I need to replace a few pieces, but they are all covered in the contact paper used at the factory in '15. Has anyone had any...

Broken Spring Hanger.....Again. and what to do about my tires too close together

Thanks for all the help. I am in the process of getting this squared away. I have attached another picture of the springs, just because I do not know how to tell if they are flattened to a replaceable point. OR if you all see anything else wrong under there.

Broken Spring Hanger.....Again. and what to do about my tires too close together

So you would remove the cross bracing? That was the fix recommended by more than a few for the weak nature of the spring hangars. Have seen the "new" hangar reinforcement that some manufacturers are doing with the "V" of steel inside the hangar and welded to the frame.

Broken Spring Hanger.....Again. and what to do about my tires too close together

I have done no other changes to the suspension than the cross bracing on the frame.

Broken Spring Hanger.....Again. and what to do about my tires too close together

What is an example of a normal hanger? These are the only ones I have ever really seen.

Broken Spring Hanger.....Again. and what to do about my tires too close together

Well, another trip and another broken spring hanger. I had the upgraded supports welded across the frame, but to no avail. the hangar actually sheared and the weld broke on the other side. Pics attached. Now even before this I noticed that my 2nd and 3rd tires are ridiculously close to each...

    Slide not moving just grinding

Thanks a lot for that info, looks like more than enough to get me out of this "bind". Ill post what I find.

    Slide not moving just grinding

You think in the motor or the gearbox. The motor seems to continue to run.

    Slide not moving just grinding

Thanks. I had the year, make and model at the end of the post. Wouldn't know where to find the slide model. hoped that was enough.

    Slide not moving just grinding

My bedroom slide started having difficulties retracting, now that I got it in, I cannot extend it. it moves s bit and then just starts grinding. Is it time to just replace the gear box, for lack of a better word. Here is a video of what I am getting. Thanks hopefully easy. Here is a link to...

    Total Ramp rebuild

Thanks guys, I did indeed do a search, but to no avail. Thanks for the links, but again, nothing points to the post I was looking for. So, now I am looking for inside info, so I can plan for the rebuild. I am looking to build a gelcoat skin, plywood, aluminum box studs spaced??, with foam in...

    Total Ramp rebuild

I need to rebuild my ramp. It, as all of them are, is woefully inadequate and honestly dangerous to load my golf cart. the flooring delaminated from the frame etc.... I believe I saw, some time ago a post that walked through the process and i cannot find it. I have seen several, but this one...

    Issues Cropping up

Well, she is getting older. Problems arising and fixes needed. If anyone has ideas on the following feel free to add any sage advice. 1. Ramp is delaminated, I have read all of the fixes, but she is still holding up to the weight of the golf cart. I would like a solution to getting the top of...

    Landing gear issues

Thank you all very much, should have gone to the DMM sooner. After trouble shooting backwards, it was one of the mini 50a breakers, those things are crap. Replaced it with 80a breaker and all is well. Again, I wouldn't have know what to check without you all. Thanks. Bruce

    Landing gear issues

So you think the Trombetta Solenoid is working fine, or should I try replacing it? I can check the wires, just need to get back over there.

    Landing gear issues

Thx, battery is brand new, like I put it in 5 minutes before and it had a top off charge for a day before I installed it. I will check the wires. I am guessing that the tombetta is the small black elongated piece with the three wires attached to it to the right of the pump. Seems like an easy...

    Landing gear issues

I posted this before but have a little more info and a video of the issue. Landing gear just stopped working, when I hit the switch i can hear it click, but get nothing. The added info is that the main slide outs are acting the same way. I hear the click and I believe it is the same thing...

    Quick fix (probably)

Or easy to diagnose. Raised my jacks to hitch, moved the RV and one too unhitch, nothing. I can hear the motor on the power unit clicking, but it is not operating. This is the same whether on battery or the genny. I also have had the issue where the jacks stop until the auto reset breaker kicks...

    F350 - No Lockup

I posted this before and it has been a while since I was able to work on this problem. Just a brief history to get you all up to speed. I have a HL 4100 King being pulled by a 2014 F350 Dually. I have my gain set at 10 and can not get lock up when test firing it on flat ground. I am going...

Going through brakes - maybe even a world record

Thanks guys for all the info. It is the integrated brake controller on a 2014 F350. Looks like I have a little digging to do. I absolutely do not get lock up. Something fishy. I'll let you know what I find out.

Going through brakes - maybe even a world record

Just a little clarification. I do conduct a pull test after every hitch up. When I squeeze the trigger on the controller I can feel the brakes work on the trailer and pull the back of my truck down. Even at the game set to 10, I do not feel the brakes engaging when using the brake pedal.

Going through brakes - maybe even a world record

All, I am ripping through some brakes on my '14 F350. I am towing a Cyclone 4100 and am easily having to replace my brakes and rotors yearly. Is this normal? The fronts are going fast, and the rears are not long after. Here is my real question. Is my brake controller really doing its job? I...

2014 Heartland Cyclone 4000 SAT Prewire

I have a 4100 King. There was NO prewire for the travl'r. I drilled up from the closet right near the off air antennae switch. My drill bit caught a lot of insulation and garbage going up. on the roof I fed the control wire down and used a roof coax plate with a lot of sealant. My roof coil...

Satellite Prep. What a let down.

Thanks for the replies, it looks like it is going to be a beer and some cable to get this thing up and running. Last question, in everyones experience, what is the best way to get from the roof to the UDC? Just not a fan of randomly popping holes in the roof. Thanks. The only idea I have is...

Satellite Prep. What a let down.

Satellite prep, far from it. I just installed, well last year, my sweet Winegard Travl'r. That part is awesome. What isn't is the complete lack of any sensible wiring within my Cyclone 4100 King. Chaos doesn't even register on the what the ****-o-meter. There is some good news, well not...

Dometic AC Running Fine, Then Shutting Down Entirely

Last night ours started doing the exact same thing. Did you ever figure out what was going on and what the remedy was? It would run for about 20 minutes and then shut down. I could cycle it back to fan (kicks on) and then to cool (compressor fires) but then about 20 minutes and then shut down...

    What the **** happened?

Dan, Ha! you nailed it. I had been switching it back and forth while working on the electrical that I lost track of the position of on and off. Simple, I'm dumb and now it is all ok. Thanks for the common sense.

Reefer not getting cold - Green fluid

Yep, total loss on the cooling system. I just ordered an Amish NEW one to replace the Norcold. I followed a youtube video and found it really simple to get the old cooling unit out and prep it for the one being shipped. I love the Internet. Bruce

    What the **** happened?

I will follow see what I can find given the above advice. I will try to give a little more detail. I hit the slide out button, while starting the genny. Something happened, I cannot remember if I heard a click or not, but the slide stopped moving out which surprised me and I stopped trying to...

    What the **** happened?

While replacing the cooling unit on my less than 2 year old Norcold 1210, I was starting the Genny when I must have hit the slide out button. Now I have no battery power to the coach. I have battery to start the Genny and then when the transfer switch kicks over I am fine with power (kinda) when...

Reefer not getting cold - Green fluid

All, Camping this weekend, fridge won't get cold. It did last week though. Opened up the outside and noticed a nice pool of fluid on the tray that resembled antifreeze in color. I can only guess this is the coolant. Found a fitting where it seems to have leaked from. What options do I have at...
