Just changing to an SOB (Grand Design 390RK). Wife is retired so we are going to be on the road for 4-5 months a year and wanted something a bit bigger. Love the Bighorn...if we didn't need a bit more space to live in, we'd keep it for sure!

On our 2015 3160EL, there is a master on/off swith in the passthrough storage on passenger side. It is on the same panel where the level up controller is located.

    Solar, Help!

Have you verified there is power come into the controller (ie...with a meter?) If so...what is your voltage. PWM or MPPT controller? Most controllers won't come on unless there is at least 13 or more volts coming in from panel(s).

Running 6V batteries with 400W solar

If you have 2x6v batteries that are 330Ah each, you will have a total of 330Ah, once you wire them in series to get 12v. Series only increases voltage...not amps. Then you will only have 115 usable Ah, as you can only use 50% of your amps, before you start to do damage to any battery other...

Running 6V batteries with 400W solar

To have 330amp hours with a 6v setup, you need to have 4 of them, at 115 amp hours each. Not sure if you were doing 2 or 4 batteries. Also, any battery, other than Lithium will only provide you 50% of their total amp hours. Example #1 - Two 6v batteries (115 amp hours each), wired in series...

    Adding solar

Many many many variables on what you will get out of 700 watts of solar, but lets just say you get ~5 amps from 100 watts. Now, this is in PRIME sun light (like June-Aug from 11-4pm) you would see about 35 amps per hour. Adding back around 175-200 amps per day. Now, toss in some shade from...

    Adding solar

Keep in mind, a 100Ah Lithium battery will power a typical 15,000 BTU RV AC unit for about 30 minutes. Great reading here: https://battlebornbatteries.com/run-rv-ac-unit-on-lithium-batteries/#h-for-how-long-will-a-lithium-battery-run-your-rv-ac-unit

    Adding solar

What you're asking for is possible with solar, but it will cost you plenty. Somewhere around $20,000 to do what you're asking. You'll need at least 800Ah of Lithium batteries (1,200 would be more in line) and a LOT of solar on the roof to keep the battery bank recharged....estimate 2,000watt...

Finally...TPMS for F-450 (or any DRW)

We were very excited to order our 2022 Ford F-450 and while waiting 6 months, I did a lot of YouTube research. One thing that kept coming up was the lack of an integrated TPMS system for 6 tires on the truck. Surprisingly, it appears the 19.5” steel belted tires were incompatible with the...

    New trailer, now for solar

I don't have a built in generator, so this is my setup. If you have a generator, you'd need to add an additional transfer switch before the Inverter. From a factory build, you'd disconnect the main line that connects to your distribution panel and connect that to the EMS. Then wired from EMS...

    Water filter install

Sorry....but those $20 Camco filters are nothing more than a dirt filter. Contaminants range in size. Silt and sediment range in size from 50 to 150 microns. Other contaminants are much smaller. Giardia and cryptosporidium can be as small as 0.5 micron. Bacteria range in size from 0.2 to 10...

got bored and swapped my switch functions around.

That switch you saw me take off the wall, is in fact a simple 12v wireless switch. Funny thing is...it died last summer, so I replaced it with this switch from Amazon, which is much smaller & less obtrusive than the first wireless one in video. Both allow you to turn lights on 100% or use...

    Level Up Display Blank

Did you try holding the power on button longer than normal? Do you have a volt meter? You can quickly test the incoming 12v line for power, before moving on to other troubleshooting ideas. Next step is to take the controller/display out and the reinstall. If that doesn't work, you might have...
