Batteries DEAD, 2 new one in our 2011 Greystone fiver (zip, nada, zero)

Rig of late has been more in storage than on the road! Gated community thought we were getting too good a deal on storage & electricity, Jan 2nd doubled the fees and you could only rent for 12 months, not month to month as in the past. So while we were "snow-birding, we did not pay for being...

Have Progressive on my car & TV, and 5th wheel.......Progressive just bought out ASI which has insured our home here in Florida for 18 years, got a better deal on it now that Progressive owns it. Just put in a claim with Progressive in April for hail damage to our awning on our 2011...

Interior lights coming and going in intensity

It appears that the converter died a peaceful death.........made it to Ohio and got set up, thanks to being plugged into the RAM. Called my son for a battery charger and away we went. The charger kept us in lights for a couple of night and a new replacement is on its way from Amazon. While...

Interior lights coming and going in intensity

Appreciate the input..... When I get settled at the final destination in Ohio for 6 weeks and do my testing......are there consumer parts to replace or repair of the converter/inverter unit necessary. I think I know where it is located, and how to get to it in my 2011 Greystone, but we'll be in...

Interior lights coming and going in intensity

On our way to Ohio to visit grandkids (7 & 9....going on 19) for a few weeks. Last night in South Carolina and tonight in VA, playing cards etc. all of a sudden the lights get really bright, a while later back to "dull" if you will. Looked at the control panel, batteries are not charges to the...

Question on awning in storage position.

Insurance appraiser came today to look at the situation. I was just starting a new P-T job, so not here. Wife covered for me. I have no argument with any of your replies, it is going on 7 years old, and this is Florida.....however, the appraiser went on the roof and said that it was aging and...

Question on awning in storage position.

Getting our 2011 Greystone 32RL ready to head to Ohio to visit our grandchildren (& their parents) and have been working on de-winterizing after a rather hectic winter storage of said unit. It survived hurricane Irma (September '18) as the eye passed over us (winds 128 MPH) seemingly without a...

    Rodents accessing trailer

We (my wife) has used this trick for years. We had a park model for 12 years in the woods of Western New York. Depending on the severity of the winter, they find their way in! The peppermint oil is awesome. As added insurance, I built a "red neck" mousetrap to get as many as possible before...

Looking to buy and build a recording booth in the back of a toy hauler?

"Voice over" caught my eye. I don't have a toy hauler so I'm worthless to you there....but I was thinking of getting into voice over, you must have some experience if you have work you can do on the road. Would love to chat with you sometime on what it took to get into it. School I'm assuming...

    Battery Maintenance

I think that's where I screwed up....being in Florida for the summer (year around for that matter) I have the rig connected to 110 AC and run the A/C at 80*+, so the batteries are being charged all the time. Best I keep a closer eye on them in the future.

    Battery Maintenance

"An ounce of prevention is WELL worth a pound of cure" Great reminder, and guess who just found out (the hard way) that neglect is costly. What with my wife being incapacitated with the installation of a new knee, we have NOT used our 5th wheel in way too long. Then comes hurricane Irma and us...

    Trip to Grand Canyon

Back in the late 80's, just before our oldest was to graduate high school, we took a brand new Mallard 24' Class C cross country without any agenda, except to drive west. Taking a truck survey!

Don't ignore consideration of the RAM3500. We put 8K on our 2005 RAM2500HD this summer (as snowbirds to Ohio & NE) and could not be more pleased with our 4 months on the road. Listen to others suggestions to get all the specs and go from there. Good Luck with your decision.

    Blowout on Goodyear Tire

Sorry for your difficulty with tires. Been there done that, not fun for sure, but sounds like you were made whole in fairly short order, and safely back on the road. GoodSam Credit card blues

Thanks all for your comments, I did not mind the hold (NOT $500, but $1000) and the fact that it prevented my using my card, even though there was sufficient credit left on my card, even after the 4 day hold of $1000. Knew there were other fueling option cards, but I've learned, and will try...

    Dometic 310 Question

Don't want to hijack this thread.....................love my 310 as well, however, one of the water inlet holes (high on the rim) has started nasty rust staining, width of hole and running down the side. DM2852 TOO cold

Know this is not your normal problem with a Dometic refrig. Maybe it's just me. First extended trip (will be out 4 months) in our Greystone 32RL, trying to get used to all its idiosyncrasies. Shear pin in front jacks?

Grade 8 was what I was thinking as well. And yes, I did find the pieces. Part of the bold was still in the motor shaft. Unable to put in a longer bolt, as it will hit the motor the as it turns. The nut that was on the unit had a crimp in both sides. We looked at a nyloc nut, but the clearances...
