    Cracks in frame on 23RBS

UPDATE: There is a brace that runs from one side of the frame to the other. The crack is where the brace is welded to the frame so it is racking. I have a tight turn where I back the trailer into the spot next to the garage. I bet that is when it is moving. I have to remove the coroplast sheet...

    Cracks in frame on 23RBS

I have a 2" long crack on both sides of the frame on my '17 23RBS. They are located about 2" in front of the very front spring hanger about 2" from the bottom of the frame rail, running horizontally. I don't know as of yet what is causing it. To stop the crack I took a 1/8" drill bit and drilled...

Where Is Water Pump for 2020 23RBS Travel Trailer

The water pump is located behind the left panel with four screws if you are standing in at the sink. A lot of the time the noise is coming from the lines. If you remove the front panel to access the pump, remove the mounting screws the hold the pump down and install a piece of rubber between the...

    Slide wiper seal replacement

If anyone is interested, this is how change out the side wiper seals on your slide outs. First: Each rail/tract that holds the seal has a crimp at the bottom so the seal does not slide out. This can be opened back up using a flat tip screwdriver. Now slide out the seal, measure, cut to size. You...

North Trail - Slide seal replacement

Thanks for the reply. They are the 1.5 inch strips. I removed some foam insulation at the bottom and noticed the channel they slide in was crimped a little so they could not slide out. I opened it up and slide out the old one. Heres a caution. I live in AZ where the temps lately have been about...

North Trail - Slide seal replacement

I have a '17, 23RBS and the side slide seals are tearing and coming out of the slot. I don't see a provision to remove the seals. I don't see any fasteners or means to open the channel that holds the seal in place. Do they just slide in from the bottom?

ATF: North Trail - What is the wire under the plastic cover?

It may be but that's the long way around being the breaker panel is in the island, so they would have to go up to the front under the cabinets where the outlets are, then up the front wall and back under the cabinets. I will figure this out this week as I am going to install an inverter in the...

ATF: North Trail - What is the wire under the plastic cover?

Ok. I removed the front stabilizer jack controls and its not the same wires. What ever it is has to be 110v. There is 1 romex running thru the front frame already so I don't know why this would come out of the front wall and down into the floor? Still thinkin.... Mike

ATF: North Trail - What is the wire under the plastic cover?

I don't think so as the controls are a foot away and front/rear have separate controls. It looks like it runs up the front fiberglass nose piece but the a/c is in the rear. I will take the cover off the front jack controls and see if the wires are in romex. Mike

ATF: North Trail - What is the wire under the plastic cover?

I can't post pictures, but anyone that has a "15-"17 23RBS can't miss the 3"x7" black box on the floor inside the front storage compartment. Mike

ATF: North Trail - What is the wire under the plastic cover?

No. I am talking about IN the front storage compartment on the floor against the front wall, to the right, is a black cover with two screws. Inside is what looks like a 110V romex wire. What your talking about is outside on the left front.

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

Maybe a demo of the currently used RV urethane foam sealant burning would be an effective educational tool for Mac The Fire Guy. That's exactly what is needed. We aren't going to change the industry unless more people are aware and raise their concern. That's the whole reason I began this...

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

UPDATE: EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation. Apparently I am not the only one that's alarmed about this foam. A fire official has just wrote a small article in "Trailer Life" magazine, July '17 edition, page 82. I guess I am not over conservative working in the nuclear power field for 30...

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

I agree a lot of things will catch fire and burn, but this can be lite with a match and burns extremely fast along with lots of black smoke. Remember the snakes you used to get in your old fireworks packs? That's what it reminds me of.. but not as fast Mike

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

UPDATE! EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation. Well Heartland was very quick to get back to me on Thursday. They informed me that the had taken my concern to management and that their reply was that their is NO "RIVA" REQUIREMENT for a fire resistant foam sealant. I asked that even if...

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

That's what I was thinking. Seeing my 60 ah 30 something year old wife crawling out that window in her night wear... well I better have a good way to "push" her out or she isn't going looking like that. Mike

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

Right Roadjunky. You can't replace every penetration thru the floor. I removed the Luan covers to the power panel and the one for the water pump, that stuff is 6" deep if you count from below the 2" floor. What really scares me is the black smoke when it burns. Whats in the vapors? On another...

UPDATE.... EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation. Well its only been about 2 hours and Heartland called me. I told them my concerns and they said that all materials were approved for the rv industry which is what you would expect. I know that the building regulations for homes is...

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

Hi Dave I have a '17 North Trail 23RBS. Every penetration in the chloroplast sheet and thru the floor into the trailer is sealed with this gray expanding foam. I lite it welding on the frame. I have done a lot of welding and have never come across anything like this. I know that home insulating...

EXTREAM FIRE HAZZARD! Gray foam insulation.

Be very careful with open flames around the gray foam insulation. I caught a piece on fire and it goes up faster than a cube bbq starter. If you are welding or using a flame for heat shrink be careful! If you don't believe me, remove a small piece and try starting it with a match, it burns very...
