What did you do to your camper today?

Installed an automatic motion sensor faucet in the rear bathroom. Was a little tight working under the small cabinet but worth the peace of mind.

    Laminate under carpet

FYI, We had to tear out the carpet in the rear bunk-room of our Gateway 3800 RLB and was pleased to find the laminate continued all the way through the camper. Apparently they lay the laminate, then the carpet, and then build the walls on top of it all. The slides however are straight carpet as...

What did you do to your camper today?

Got the majority of the bunk-room put back together, including the new shoe cubby for the kids. Picked me up a new set of Rigid cordless tools as well. Here is a general before and after. Still needs a few finishing touches with trim but the majority is done. Also a picture of the inside of the...

Ever have a period while FTing when everything went wrong?

We've been full-timing for about a month now and I'm wondering if there isn't a time when everything falls apart. Started with getting the camper stick twice while trying to access our deeded lot, once having to have a tow truck pull us out, then a busted propane regulator. Followed by the main...

Very nice. We own an rv lot in North ga that we use as our home base. plan on getting a "smaller" residential permanent tank installed on the property. Glad to see you got the same manufactured regulator. Hopefully that means i got the right one too.

    Gateway 3800RLB Mods

Got access to the dead space under the ladder to the loft. Had to take out a wall, but this leads to my next mod. I plan on adding a cubby hole for the kids to store their shoes under the ladder. I will cut out some of the stud and add a cross member to distribute the weight. Cut a matching hole...

We are planning on having a larger, permanent tank installed on the lot soon. Hoping to get through the rest of the cold season with our two tanks for now. Get a feel for how long they will last for when we start going on trips. I'm sure the people will install everything I will need to get it...

What did you do to your camper today?

All last night and early this morning... My niece came to stay with us for a couple of days... She's five. Bless her heart.... she put a beating on my 16 month old son, went #2 in the upstairs toilet without flushing, leaving a pleasant surprise for my wife, and then washed her hands for dinner...

    Flexible Sewer Hose

I really like how the waste master system looks but having two separate black and grey tanks, I don't see anywhere for a wye to be placed within the system. The think I liked about that system was the cam locks. We started full-timing about a month ago and I too am looking into better hoses...

Have noticed while running the heat that the bunk room doesn't get much air flow out of the vents. Read on another thread that sometimes there is a lot of unnecessary duct work routing around under the camper. Plan to look into that to see if I can straighten it out some to get better flow. Been...

What did you do to your camper today?

Did you have to order the regulator? I had an original 30psi regulator and couldn't find one anywhere. The local RV shop said I could use a 20 but I wanted to stick with what was in place. It was only for the second tank. I was able to use one tank until the new regulator came in.

What did you do to your camper today?

This past week I replaced the lp regulator that went from the passenger-side tank to the driver-side tank. Cleaned up all the cables behind the T.V. in the living room and stuck all the routers and modems to the wall so they were up off the floor. Took down the false walls in the basement to get...

    Bunkhouse Heat

How did you get to the duct work? Was it accessible from underneath or did you have to pull up the floor? I have noticed that our master bathroom becomes a sauna while the kids bunkroom has very little air flow coming through as well as the livingroom isn't where I would like it.

Floor vent catches My 18 month old decided our floor vents was a great place to put his gold fish and Cheerios.. I picked up some wire mesh from the HD and made a catch for these items as well as change and others. Made sure the mesh was plenty large enough to not impede air flow but small...

Still looking and got to remeasure but I've looked around and found some better options size wise that might not even require modifying the counter. We'll see... definitely not at the top of the list as far as priority but at the top of the list as far as I want to do this.

    Landing/stairs built upto camper

What is the best way to build exterior stairs so that they butt up to the camper safely while still being able to pull the camper in and out? Was thinking of maybe putting the stairs on rollers/wheels with locks to allow the stairs to be moved back and forth.

New range/oven thoughts The oven in our 38000 RLB is tiny, as I'm sure most are. I got this idea from this thread https://heartlandowners.org/showthread.php/62323-Apartment-size-Range. I got the measurements and it looks like the depth and width should allow it to fit with minor mods but the...

    Awning support

Found these on Amazon after looking at the awning supports (umbrella things). These look about right. Might give them a try. https://www.amazon.com/Awntech-Breeze-Adjustable-Support-Awning/dp/B00DH5CR1U/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_pdt_img_top?ie=UTF8

We have an electric awning, the problem is after lowering one side, which i myself can do. The knob that needs to be loosened to retract it is out of reach of my wife. Awning support

The 5th wheel is beyond high. We finally got our step ladder up to the lot so that will help. It's more for those storms that we miss or show up unexpectedly. You know, the off chance the meteorologist gets the forecast wrong. Although i know that never happens.

    Awning support

I know that awnings should be retracted during high winds and rain. Unfortunately I am away from my RV for days at a time and with RV's as tall as they are now, it is very difficult for my wife to pull the awning in if I am not home. Today is a perfect example as I am sitting at work and a fast...

In line regulator leaking... is it necessary?

I just purchased my first 5th wheel, a 2017 Gateway 3800 RLB. I bought it "used" and for that I get to tinker with all the things that I'm finding wrong. The dealership all of a sudden doesn't want to return my calls as quickly... go figure. I have two tanks, one on each side of the camper, and...

    Power's Pioneer DS310 thread

I saw these when picking my 5th wheel up from the dealership. I was curious to their sturdiness vs the moride stairs. I do like how these don't block the doorway. We full time it and i plan on building stairs on our deck while at home base. The moride stairs would get in the way. These seem like...

Permanently connected sewer hose w/ storage box

    Awning not sealed against camper

Found the culprit(s). The led lights apparently are in a track of themselves which is a thin metal that is easy to bend. How it got bent I don't know, but I pushed it back against the wall as best I can and it looks "better." Coincidence that it was the same place as the leak I guess. The...
