    Dealer Question?

Butch and Karen are the best. I ordered our Classic Grand Canyon from them in November 2005 and drove 1000 miles to pick it up when it was delivered to their dealership. To make a long story short, my experience with them has been excellent. Not only did I get a great RV that was thoroughly...

    Verizon Wireless Internet Set-up

Duane; I plugged the USB760 into the Router. I connected the lead from the Wilson Trucker into the USB760. Then both computers were able to operate independently from each other and from the Router. Of course, the system had to be programmed and activated through Verizon. The advantage of...

    Verizon Wireless Internet Set-up

We had Verizon Wireless in our RV and don't need it anymore. The contract is paid off, so all you would have to do is activate it in your name and pay month to month. I have the USB760, Cradlepoint CTR350 Router, Wilson Trucker Ladder Mount Antenna and Lead in Connector. With the router, you...

SOLD - Ford F-550 RV Hauler

Since we have quit fulltiming and bought a home, I have decided to sell my baby. It is a 2005 F-550 Lariat, that is not your typical RV Hauler. This is one pulling machine. It has an AFE Stage 1 airbox, MBRP turbo back exhaust (no cat) EGR Cooler bypass, Edge EZ, BD-X Monitor for Boost, EGT...

    Time to say Goodbye

To each of you, our heartfelt thanks for the kind words. It really touched our hearts knowing that the little bit of information that we shared did make a difference. I know that at times, my comments were not appreciated by some, and for those times, I am sorry. My goal was to help advance...

    Time to say Goodbye

There aren't many folks here on the forum that know me or that I know anymore, but to the few friends that I have that are still here, I just wanted to say it's been a lot of fun and it was definitely my privilege in being able to meet many of you at the rally's and here on line. We have been...

    Tires

Bernie; I carry a hand held pyrometer with me. A lot will depend on the ambient temperature. I have seen the temperature vary by 20 degrees from the sunny side of the rv to the shady side of the rv driving down the road. In the summer in Texas when the ambient temperature was over 100...

Why an oven and convection oven??

We wanted the extra cabinet space in place of the gas oven. In over 3 years of full timing, we have made out fine with the convection oven without the gas oven. My bride likes to cook and it's not a matter of not using the kitchen. We eat out no more than twice a month. John

    RV Insurance

We've been with GMAC for six years now and are very happy with them. We left State Farm because of major rate differences. We have car, truck and RV insured with them, including fulltimer coverage. I've had several claims with them and they were handled quickly and to my satisfaction. I...

    Toilet Flushing Problems

Sounds to me like you have a blockage in your sewer line from the toilet to the black tank. The first thing I would try is to run a water hose (with water flowing) down through the toilet into the black tank and make sure that is clear all the way down. If that is open, go to the roof and...

    Campgrounds, what's a good price..

Don't overlook city parks. I have found some beautiful city parks, some with full hook-ups from free to $20 per night. Most of these I have located in either the East or West, Don Wright's Guide to Free Campgrounds, or the website that Marv mentioned above. John

Problems with our 3 week old 2010 Grand Canyon

Superduty; I'm sorry to hear of the problems that you are having with your new Grand Canyon. Also, I am seriously considering a new Grand Canyon, not because there is anything wrong with my "Classic" but we really like some of the features of the new one. As a word of encouragement, since...

    Disappointment in Heartland Warranty

    Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I've had the Pressure Pro System for over three years now, and as the old saying goes, "Don't leave home without it". The peace of mind, as Pulltab says, makes traveling so much more enjoyable. One of our members, Pat McFall, here on the forum is a representative for the Pressure Pro System...

Fueling while pulling a large 5er

When I had my GMC, I added a 60 gallon auxillary tank that gave me a total of 96 gallons. In my present hauler, I only have 76 gallon capacity. I use the truck islands, or in the case of Flying J, the RV islands where they have them. No way do I want to use a car island ever again Too many...

    Where's The Pump ?

I don't understand what the connection is between the monitoring system and the pump. If you are referring to the level indicator on the monitoring system and the actual availability of water in the tank, then my suggestion would be to fill the tank until it overflows and then turn on the pump...

SOLD - For Sale: 2006 Heartland Bighorn 3055RL

Tom; So sorry to hear that you are selling your rig. We missed you and Sharol in Goshen this year. I really enjoyed our short time together two years ago and hope that we get a chance to meet again somewhere. Good luck with selling your Bighorn and hope that you will get relief from your...

    VERY junior member with questions

Hi Nick; Like Marv, Sue and I full time in our 39 foot Landmark. We have used State Parks, City Parks, County Parks, Corps of Engineers and US Forest Service to name a few. One thing that I do is to look at the park web site or Reserve America and you can see most of the specifications of the...

    Transfer flow aux. tank

The weight goes to the truck and will be divided between the front and rear axle weights. That will affect the GVWR of the axles which will be figured into the amount of pin weight that you can have to still be within the load limits of the rear axle. After you get the fuel tank installed, you...

Any 2010 Grand Canyon owners out there?

Hi Lynne; Picking up on what Jim said. The coach is beautiful and it appears that the quality of construction is a notch above what you and I have. The entry closet is not nearly as deep as ours, not deep enough for any cookware, several jackets will fill it. The bedroom dresser only has...

Any 2010 Grand Canyon owners out there?

Hi Lynne; I hope to see one soon and will give you a report as soon as I do. We are really anxious to see it too, but we want the "big" fridge, and think that the cabinets by the steps will suffice for pantry space. John

    Goodyear Tire Report

Just an update on the Balancing Beads. I've put about 2500 miles on since adding them and I won't do it again. When you are stopped, it seems to take about five miles at highway speeds before they get all in place and work well. Running down the road at highway speed is fine, until you slow...

Water in belly from driving in the rain?

It's not a sealed unit. You will get water in the underbelly if you drive in the rain. A lot of it kicks up from your tow vehicle. I have several drain holes in my underbelly to allow the water to drain. It's been that way for over three years and 30,000+ miles and hasn't caused me any grief...

    Petit Jean State Park

Bobby; I hear that. You are spot on, but today, I was on a 10% grade both ways, up and down out of Victor, ID over to Jackson, WY. Thank goodness I have a Ford. :D:D:D And the Grand Teton National Forest is nothing short of spectacular.

Talley; One thing I remember is that I was able to "almost" check my trailer tail lights on some of the corners. Also, some of the younger set used the road as their private "grand prix" course. It wasn't bad, I just remember the roads and smile. John

We had an opportunity to tour Flair Industries at the 2007 Heartland Rally and I hope that we have the opportunity to do it again this year. Petit Jean State Park

Bobby & Linda; I have to agree with you. I use the picture of our Landmark on the site there as my screen saver and also as my profile picture here on the forum. I definitely remember the climb to get to the park on all three roads to get there. What a great place. We are in one now that is...

    electrical issue

No it's not right. You might see an instantaneous variance when you turn the light on due to the change of current flow in the circuit, but it should return to the same brightness in less than a second. If your battery is not fully charged, you might see it dim and remain.

    Mor/Ryde Systems...

Bob; I think that was a great question. I owned a Sea Breeze for about 5 years. It had MorRyde suspension on it. The rubber blocks had some cracks in them that concerned me and I called MorRyde and talked to Gary in sales and then one of their technical people (sorry, I don't remember her...
