Remote temperature monitor how-to. Where is it?

I appreciate you're trying to help but this blink system is not what I'm looking for. It runs off AC and requires a wifi connection and that's not what I want. I want something that runs off DC and uses a cell connection for alerts. I know it's here somewhere, just can't find it.

Remote temperature monitor how-to. Where is it?

Not quite what I was after. The setup I recall monitored temp on its own and if it went outside programmable limits t would call a designated, or designated phone numbers with an alert msg, or something along those lines. As long as there was cell service it was good to go.

Remote temperature monitor how-to. Where is it?

Quite a while back I recall a thread about a remote temperature monitoring system someone had put together using some sort of temp monitor and a pay as you go type of cell phone, but I cant find it anymore. Is this ringing any bells for anyone? I'd really like to revisit this system.

    ATF: Cyclone - Interior Lights

The breaker box has metal "fingers" that are supposed to press in between the contacts in the breaker. The breaker on the left still has it's contacts. The finger slides between these. The finger for the seriously torched breaker was bent up and instead of being pressed between the contacts...

    ATF: Cyclone - Interior Lights

Or you could get a panicked call from you wife that there's a funny smell in the kitchen, there is smoke coming from the main breaker box, and rush back to find your main breaker looks like this... http:// because it was installed incorrectly from the factory.

    Extended Warranty and sealant

Pull off some panels here and there and get a good look at the quality of construction, or lack thereof more accurately, and you might be more inclined to consider the extended. I bought one and it's earned it's keep. Fridge control board toasted. Transfer switch twice. Leaky hydraulics...

    What's your favorite carry weapon?

This is such a wide spread fallacy that it isn't even funny anymore. At any range you're likely to encounter in an RV (and the average home for that matter) you had best aim that shotty. Real life isnt hollywood and you aren't going to clear half the room just by "pointing in the general...

    Dealer is horrible!

Bingo. I took my unit to my local General RV for the first and last time. The service rep was a complete waste of space. Two weeks to get in, better part of a week to verify that "yes the xfer switch is indeed broken", like I said in the first place. Two more weeks without a peep. What's...

Roadmaster Active Suspension system new to market any users?

Despite the marketing jargon, when you get right down to it, it's nothing more than another take on a helper spring. It's really no more "active" than any other type of spring system. To be fair, your standard air bag system isn't all that active either, if it's the type where you fill it to...

This has been a complaint for YEARS. I cannot for the life of me understand why the factory is being so incredibly obstinate about making such a simple change.

    A/C ducting modification questions...

Aaand, the light bulb goes on. Makes all kind of sense now. :) I might try that tent in the vent thing first to see if it makes any significant difference. I'd rather not have to shell out the money for another A/C if I don't have to. No idea what I'd do with the extra one.

    Generator Auto Start. How to....

As usual my search attempts yielded nada. There have been a number of times we've lost power at campgrounds, which hasn't been an issue since we were always present and just hit the switch. This last time though I know of a couple of campers that were not present when it happened, and they...

    A/C ducting modification questions...

Any and all input is appreciated, but I'm a bit unsure of what question you are answering. I know my front A/C isn't ducted. I added it and used a non-ducted model, which if I had to do over I might do different, hence my questioning on the practicality of changing it out, replacing it with w...

    A/C ducting modification questions...

Mods will do what Mods will do but...I posted this over in the Cyclone section because I thought the duct work in a Cyclone may be specific to a Cyclone, and someone there may have already tread this ground. At the risk of being redundant I had also posted my question to an existing thread here...

    A/C ducting modification questions...

I have 2 A/C units in a 2011 3950, and when I'm someplace hot it is just barely doing the job. The bedroom unit will cool the bedroom and not much else. The excess cool doesn't seem to transfer to the rest of the unit much at all. A strategically placed fan helps, but only so much. My...

    Garage ramp traction help

I'm surprised by this. I have an '11 3950 and the ramp isn't slick by any stretch. It has a non-skid surface from the factory. Yours does not apparently? If it does not, and just has a smooth surface that is not some kind of "paper", I would go to your local wal-mart, car parts store, etc...

Not happy with tires on Cyclone 3950

Re: New Cyclone 3950 owner - not happy with Tires Your dealer screwed the pooch on this one and the excuse of "I was only told to get American tires" doesn't and shouldn't fly. It goes without saying that when changing out the tires to an American brand, they have to change to properly sized...

Pin Box / Slide out issues (+ some misc.)

The standard RV warranty is a joke at best. One WHOLE year for an item that the average person will at best use for a few weeks during that year. I doubt the majority of us are retired full timers.

    Pulling a Cyclone 3950 with a Ford PS F-250??

That 3950 is going have a pin weight somewhere north of 4,000 lbs. Is there anyone pulling one with a 250? I'm SURE there is, and the stock answer is "my F-sumthin50 pulls my 17,000 lb, 4,000+ lb pin weighted camper juuuuust fine". There are some things that fall into the just because you...

What are you pulling the Cyclone 3950 with?

2008 Ford F-450. Don't worry so much about what it's rated to pull, but rather what load it's rated to carry on it's rear axle. This is where you will run out of capacity first.

    All new 4100 "THE KING"

Most of that sounds pretty good, but I'm not too sure about the full size tub. On the toy haulers space is already something of a premium in the main "living" area and it seems the tub requires space that could be better dedicated to the kitchen/living area. There's a lot more time spent...

ATF: Cyclone - Loading ramp failure

This thread reminded me of a youtube video I saw the other day. Someone boon-docking the desert and getting ready to load up the 4-wheelers and such. When he dropped the ramp it actually floated about a foot or so off the ground and the owner had to put his foot on it and force it down so the...

Pin Box / Slide out issues (+ some misc.)

    3950 towing question

No clothes, food, dishes, bedding, camping "stuff" etc etc? That stuff adds up very very fast. I weighed my 3950 with only those types of items and it came in at 16,500 lbs. No water to speak of in any of the tanks, and maybe 10 gallon of fuel in it. It's heavy to begin with and additions...

    Golf Cart Advice

Mines 48V electric and I like it that way. I have a gasser at home as well but to be honest I wouldn't use it. I go camping to relax, assume others do as well, and would consider myself rude to be tooling about the campground in a noisy cart. Even the "quiet" ones are noisy compared to...

2010 3950 - Water leaking into drivers side compartment toolbox?

My problem with this I traced to me being the cause while hooking or disonnecting the water line in the UDC. My fix was about a 3 foot long piece of water hose that remains connected in the UDC at all times. When I need to hook up external water I remove the two round caps and drop the hose...

can you buy a fence kit?

The door with the porch has at least one extra hinge at its base. I verified this but I don't know how much real difference this makes. I was told the frame in the door openi f is considerably reenforced and much sturdier. This would make good sense but I have not verified it.

Pin Box / Slide out issues (+ some misc.)

The slide may indeed just need some adjustment, but I think it's a moot point until they get the flex issue dealt with. If I have the slide out and put the weight on the pin, or take it off the pin, there is quite of bit of obvious flex going on not only at the pin and along that horizontal...

Pin Box / Slide out issues (+ some misc.)

Just dropped off my '11 Cyclone 3950 at the dealer a few days ago for a few issues. In no particular order... Belly cover: The front 1/3 of it seems to be pretty much toasted. It's warped and bowed and bubbled, and probably a few other adjectives as well. I'm relatively certain it's due...

    Cyclone 3950 bedroom tv mount

    "Don't leave unattended"?

That's a bit problematic when you are a 1000 miles from home some place you've never been before. I used a kennel when at disney and while the facility must have been gold plated judging by the cost, I was also comfortable with the quality of care. Not so much with other kennels I've visited...

    "Don't leave unattended"?

As far as you know. :) My mother has cats which for the most part spend their day in relative silence, but the instant my mother leaves the house one of those cats proceeds to wail his brains out. The little bugger can be heard through all 3 floors of the house. Neither of my dogs are...

    tow vehicle for Cyclone 3950

A 2008 Ford F-450, bone stock at the moment. My 3950 has pin weight of 4,300 lbs and all things factored this leaves me with an 800 lb. cushion on my axle rating. The camper weighs in at 16,500 lbs, with empty tanks, and nothing much to speak of in the garage. I'm not exactly sure how some...

    Height concerns on added A/C

It wouldn't be cutting it close. The 13' 6" clearance you are seeing is the height of trailer that can safely clear. If your camper ended up at 13' 7" you won't rip the roof off. That said I wouldn't try squeezing 14' under a 13' 6" rated overpass. You may or may not make it. And of course...

What tow rig do I need

They might say 3300 lbs but my 3950 ready to go the way WE load is right about 4,300 lbs on the pin. That is with effectively empty tanks and not much to speak of in the garage. Given those weights and my truck (f-450, '08) I've got about 800 lbs to spare on my rear axle. If I were the OP...

How to mount TV in garage

Digging up an older post but hopefully it yields results. Do you happen to have a part number for the swing down and swivel type tv mount? I'll be danged if I can find an aftermarket version that fits the bill. I had one in my old Keystone TT that was the hot ticket, but they don't use that...
