2010 BH 3670RL & 2006 Dodge RAM 3500 SRW

I currently own a 2006 Dodge RAM 3500 SRW diesel truck and we are looking to purchase a 2010 BH 3670RL very soon. The 3670RL will have a 2nd AC and generator, which will add to the weight. I have 2 questions and any feedback would be very much appreciated.

1: Will my truck be enough to handle towing the BH 3670RL when all said and done (2 adults & 3 teenagers, (2) eu2000 generators, equipments, bikes & etc)? My truck info is below. I want to make sure that I have enough truck for this unit. If short or long term this truck isn't enough, I would rather purchase a Kodiak 4500 now than later.

Curb Weight Front/Rear = 4219 lbs/4219 lbs

GAWR Front/Rear = 5200 lbs/6200 lbs

GCWR = 21000 lbs

2: What is the going percentage discount off of the MSRP for this brand? Also, is there a must have option? Right now, we have a TT and this will be our 2nd RV and first 5th wheel. Our TT is 26' for going from that to 39' is a big upgrade.

We have what's in our sig and have NO problems at all towing. Before the Dodge came along we had a 06' 1ton SRW Ford and it had no problem either except for the legendary "ohno" engine problems. I don't think you will have a problem at all with the Dodge.

Total weight 16,500
Pin weight 3,520

it is heavy, for not being a toyhauler.

Sounds like you could be adding 1000 lbs of payload with passengers & gear. Then add another 2500-3000 lbs for the pin weight of the rig. You'll be running pretty heavy on the rear wheels.

I don't think you have enough truck. My 3655RD would weigh about the same as your unit and there are only my wife and myself in the truck and we travel light - no water on board and empty holding tanks and our weights are 22,900#, based upon both CAT scale weights and individual wheel weights at the rally. Since I have duallies, that would account for extra weight. I have a 4.10 rear end, which takes me to a GCVWR or 23,000, so I only have 100# to play with.

Since you already like Dodges, consider the 4500 or 5500 Rams that are out.

That's too bad as we many of us should be running with MDTs when we are pulling rigs the size that some of us have. With my rig, I am within 100# of my GCVWR and really should have a MDT.

My possible Kodiak purchase would be a used TV because I can't see the reason to purchase a TV that cost more than my 5th wheel. My other option would be to get a smaller unit but I really like the 3670RL.

Dodge 3500 tow vehicle

You won't have any problem with that setup. I tow a 3670 (2008) with a Dodge Ram 3500 (2007). On the level you won't know its there. On the hills it does a great job too. There is no lack of power and the suspension handles it well. I guess I am assuming your truck is a dually as mine is.
