2900 MK 2008 slide screws walking out

Love the rig and love Heartland; however. I have a problem with the screws on the underside edge of the main slide seem to want to walk out. This causes them to catch on the teflons slide strip for the slide and gouge out the strip or bend the screws. There seems to be little purchase on the screws so they don't stay in. I have replaced them (easy to get to with slide out) larger screws but not being able to see whats between the wall I am not sure I'm on track for a good fix. I am not going to take it to a dealer and let them put longer/bigger screws in, those I have. Any ideas would be apreciated.

I would try a dab of caulk on the threads of the screws before screwing them right.

What Dave said. OR Another idea would be to relocate the screw into a new area. Pre-drill the holes using a real countersink drill bit so you don't "strip" out the hole trying to countersink the screw heads the old fashion way. Use some silicone to fill the old holes.
