AC Unit drips heavily and then dumps about a cup of water when off

Hi fellow RV'ers; We have a used Edge M23 and love it. Half way through our 3 week trip the AC started acting strange in that it would run, run, run and barely shut off. Sometimes we had to shut it off just for some quiet time; but when we did it would immediately drip about a cup of water from the ceiling unit onto the floor. Prior to the big drain thing, it had begun to drip occasionally. We thought it was just the high humidity, but the big drain thing happened daily for about 9 days of the trip (KY, MO, AR & TX).
Only booklet we have is Dometic Air Distribution Box Kit [ADB] Installation & Operating Instructions which, of course, was not much help in troubleshooting. Hope someone has some suggestions.
Also on a similar note the side air vents in the ADB do not seem to be balanced with air flow. The ones that face the kitchen sink are full blast on and the one that faces the slide out sofa put out very little air even in the full open position. We don't know whether the two items are related since the big drip bombs didn't start until recently while the AC vent thing was that way when we purchased the trailer.
Thanks again for everyone's help. Th owners forum has been a godsend in helping us learn details and become better campers! We just wish there was a school to teach 'easily backing up a trailer'.
