Great discussion as I just started to research this. Boy I love this Heartland site?

Will look into that Viair ... but I also just traded for a new 2016 F350 and Ford has installed an inverter and two 110v receptacles in the truck ... sweet ... so will look into the 110v units discussed too.

Here's the cheapest price I found for that Porter Cable one ... and free shipping. It's the same as the Craftsman one from Sears ..

A comment regarding the a/c plug-ins in the trucks. They may not allow for the current draw necessary to support the 120 volt compressors. Mine in the Ram is just enough for portable computers, cell phone charging etc. Don't know about the Ford set-up though.

For those considering a 120v compressor. I have this Kobalt from lowes. Small footprint and works really well I paid $139 but now it is $109. Great compressor. http://www.lowes.com/pd_57655-30449-0200382___?productId=4686711&pl=1&Ntt=air+compressor

Same. Keep mine under the bed. 125psi for my HT Eco's with no problems.

My 2013 F350 has two plugs. 120v AC 150 watt. It will not fire the air compressor. Mine won't even charge my dewalt battery charger for my drill. :(.
