Air Drop

[Shortest Straw]

My daughter is stationed over in Germany right now and just sent some pictures to me. This is what happens when you are air dropping a HUMVEE and the chute doesn't deploy.

It is not the fall it is the sudden stop. There is a Youtube video out of several drops gone bad and it cracks me up every time I watch it. I won't post it here because it has copyright music on it (John Fogerty, Bad Moon Rising) but I think it is still out there.

My BIL was a Chinook pilot in Germany years ago and would sling load stuff all the time. Sometimes they would not get the load hooked up right and would lose something, but he never kept pictures.
