Hey Guy's
I have an oldie but a goodie (96,2500HD,8800gvw) It comes in just under the Std.3500.(9001gvw) IN Pa it is considered as a light duty 1 ton. 9k is where your std. 1ton starts. That being said, I put on the air bags to keep my chassis from touching the overload leafs. The bags make it ride like a "Caddy" and it sits perfectly level with my GC on it. Just my .02 worth.

As Loco said, a dually is just safer if you are pulling a heavy load. It will not pull any heavier load than a 250 or 2500, but the dual wheels really give you more stabilty on wet roads and when that 18 wheeler decides he is going to blow your doors off at eighty miles per hour, or you get in the middle of the praire with 40 to 50 mph winds coming at your side. Just watch your mirrors for the rear fenders, you will soon get the feel.

P.S. don't let your daughter take it to the drive through window like my friend. Those fenders are about 2500 dollars. Good Luck
